TRUMP - Some people think......... How do you feel?

For all the investigations going on surrounding the Trump campaign and their connections to Russia, you wonder if the Republican chairmen of the Senate and House investigations are on to something by not aggressively investigating. If you get rid of Trump, you're left with President Pence. You're left with the Christian Taliban in charge. Pence really is a first class Christian nutcase. And if he can be more successful in passing bills than Trump is, that would be worse than allowing Trump his 4 years.

And if you get rid of Trump and manage to tie Pence to the scandal as well, you have President Ryan, who is almost the Christian nutcase that Pence is, but meaner.

I think I'd take incompetence over those two. Unless the incompetence leads to a war on the Korean Peninsula. What a set of choices.

I don't know what the system is. But I have not heard that being an option. I think you may very well see President Pence, and that would be a theocratic disaster.

That's what I assumed because no one was talking new election. It doesn't matter what you want if it's not an option.

Pence would be worse. Ryan would be worse. Ryan is just plain evil. He really thinks only some people deserve health care. Both would be adored by evangelical Christians. Trump was their vehicle to political influence. Pence or Ryan would be their ticket to political power.

Everything is worse ... does it appear we are slipping into an imaginary slump ... the pits as de Nous goes?

Perhaps there is an underground or lesser understanding that's more ... like partisan humility?

To be fair, it's not even our country. But it's just so fascinating. The U.S. is rapidly secularizing, but not rapidly enough. And they need to get those young "nones" out to vote. At all elections.

It's not just the nones - it's a large majority of all young people that want change. Their country has been taken hostage by dinosaurs.

I was just thinking, re: the possibility of Pence becoming president. I am sure every strategic minded democrat and independent has already thought of that.

And even if Trump, Pence, AND Ryan to all go down, next in the line of succession is President Pro Tempore of the Senate and that's Hatch. He's more experienced and less likely to go batshit crazy than any of the others, but is still very, very conservative socially.

It's the nones who are least likely to vote for any of those turkeys. And millennial nones are coming of voting age, and there's tons of them. It's about 40% nones among millennials.

The problem is the low voter turnout among young people (we see it here, too) means that until the old folks who are voting for those turkeys die off or at least become invalids, that isn't going to get represented in the vote. Unless there's some sign that the next generation will be more likely to vote than the ones who came of age in the nineties and noughties. I know Little M probably will but he's been raised in a fairly political household where we talk about it a lot so I'm not sure that he's typical.

These are extraordinary times. I hope that gets more young people out to vote. ...which reminds me that Obama managed to up the numbers when he ran...and he is starting an org for civic engagement.

That's literally what we're waiting for. For old people to die and young people to wake up to the reality that they have a voice if they just vote in numbers. Trump may help get that vote out by being something worth voting against.

But the turkeys aren't even retiring. Jeff Sessions looks to be about 80. - just checked. He's 70.

There are some major age gap differences of opinion on what would make the world a better place. I got in trouble for blaming the baby boomers before - and not all are bad - but they outnumber the younger voters these days, demographically. There are just more of them. They are hogging a future they won't be around for.

Question for chansen: how religious do you think the Breitbartian and young Russian trolls who allegedly helped Trump get elected are? I'm betting most of them - the Pepe the Frog types - are nones. Trump himself, is not religious. Steve Bannon is not religious he's just Dr. Evil of comic book character magnitude. That Milo guy - and the former Facebook exec who invented that visual tech device - not especially religious. Moderate and Liberal Christianity's values wouldn't hurt. I applaud Stephen Colbert for introducing them to his comedy routines. At least people get to know that Christianity doesn't all = fundementalist.

But they're using Christians. And too many Christians are too stupid to recognize it. They love the pro-Christian, anto-abortion snd pro-gun rhetoric.

I could "convert" here tomorrow and the usual suspects would jump up and down around me. So many ChristIans believe so easily.

Being a none doesn't mean you are automatically a good person. Statistically, it does mean you probably didn't vote for Trump.
