TRUMP - Some people think......... How do you feel?

Who is at the helm, by the way, is seldom the president. The very wealthy own the president.
The wealthy have nothing to gain from NK.

I am disappointed in the tabloid press for generating hype and fear over conflict with NK, while other press is taking a measured, responsible tone and looking how leaders are looking to calm tensions. It does absolutely no good for a cool headed solution - to declare the sky is falling and get the internet abuzz with rumour. It's irresponsible. It's more responsible to give no comment than for them to wildly speculate and make stuff up.

The U.S. has desperately wanted control of China for over a hundred years. Britain set the example with a conquest that created hundreds of millions of customers and cheap labour for British capitalists. And the British had no obligations to those people. I could, and did, leave them to starve to death. It was a bonanza. The British people got little out of it. The Chinese got nothing. but British capitalists made billions.
The U.S. wanted at least a piece of that action. That's why, over a century ago, it invaded The Phillipines. That's why it established an advanced naval base in Hawaii. (Why else stick a naval base in the middle of the Pacific?) That's why it fought the Vietnam war.
American capitalists still want China. And they don't have much time left to do it.
I'll get a look at John Oliver. He seems promising.

The guy lost his leg. How does anyone congratulate someone on their amputation?

Best War wound ever. Seriously. Not like those other loser wounds.

PTSD? Sad, so sad. Some folk with PTSD still have their arms or their legs some, I guess, are legitimately injured.

But losing a leg or even two. What a winner?

And let me tell you this, when we finally get around to repealing the disaster of Obamacare we are going to help this purple heart winner stand on his own two feet again.

Not like crooked Hilary who is a nasty woman and I hear, kicks puppies and eats kittens.

Something like that I guess.

He's still tweeting about the popular vote and his poll numbers...meanwhile there's some serious stuff going down in the waters off of the Korean Peninsula. But...that's after they had to do a U-turn because the aircraft carrier was headed the wrong way last week.

Control is power ... Lord Alton's night mare that is expressed in the Lexicon as avarice ... colloquially as "control freak"?

I really don't know as it is illegal to do so ... physically, mentally and emotionally as the processing part is pickled ... a sol-saver?

Then there are those that say life is not an odd process ...

The Korean ploy is the most dangerous we've seen. Kim Jun almost certainly won't back down. And China can't possibly ignore an invasion on a border country.
Korea is nowhere close to being the threat that the U.S. is.

Let me guess, the Admiral just sailed around refusing to ask for directions? Or he was using an out of date GPS?:LOL:

Well, this is the thing. Korea has lots of subs, and could sink an aircraft carrier. The US dropped the bomb in Afghanistan to show Korea the vulnerability of it's nuclear facilities.

Forget trump, if Korea does not test more weapons over there, the US military could still bomb one of their own west coast cities to justify spanking NK.

People should take a bit of time to think about if they are prepared for dangerous situations.

Are you advocating reverse (reciprocal logic) to counter irrational behavior of the ani Maas ?

With bunkers and generators and water and emergency supplies? Not...if the apocalypse comes, I'm going down...

We will in a society that worships the wealthy. The theory is they create wealth for all. (they don't). And they have the virtue of competitiveness. But that's not a virtue. Competitive means trying to beat others. And means personal satisfaction and greed, and disregard of the needs of others.
A Trump becomes rich because a)he is born rich b) has a powerful sense of class superiority C) is greedy and d) is concerned only about himself.
That describes a great many presidents. (and it would certainly describe Hillary Clinton.
Interestingly, nowhere is there a record of Jesus advocating the virtues of competitiveness, class superiority, greed or disregarding the needs of others. Indeed, I should think that Christianity and capitalism are incompatible.

So how can a largely Christian society vote for such a leader? And how can the Christian churches of such a society be silent about it?

But it's not just the connoisseurs of the most self-serving Christian claptrap imaginable who got Trump elected. He got more of the "mainline" as well.

It doesn't matter - except to underline the shallowness of Christianity as we practice it.The gluttony, the arrogance, the greed, the killing have been monstrous. But I have heard not a word from our churches. I wonder if they still bless the bombs.

I've just finished an 8-week session on non-violence that I'm planning to wrap up with a discussion of pacifism/"just war" theory tomorrow night. You'd be more than welcome to join us if you can get here.
