Feeling a bit frustrated. I keep getting phone calls about a credit card - they want to speak to Chemguy as they can't just simply make joint accounts actually equal in nature. He called back the number on the back of the card already - they brought up charges they thought were fraudulent but aren't. They also aren't things that he did but that *I* used my card for so he had to confirm with me anyway.
I'm still getting calls. They insist he call that specific number - not listed on their website, caller ID doesn't pick up the company name, and searching the number just yields a few complaints about calls without a voicemail being left. Turns out there was a payment issue.
I gave them an earful about basically encouraging people to fall for phishing scams - calling a random number and being asked to give info. Took the guy I was speaking to a little while to get it but eventually he understood and passed on my complaint.
 
@Jae If you want to discuss what's taught in sex ed for schools please do so in a different thread. This isn't the place for passive-aggressive posts.

If you read Nancy's response and Chemgal's warning, you can probably figure out the gist of it. Best to leave it like, though.

For me, I'm looking forward to a pretty good day tomorrow. Parents will come up, will spend the day at my sisters. Have a delayed birthday (sister) and valentine's family celebration.

The daughter is busy conquering fears of steep hills. I'm busy this morning, about to do some slalom training. Mendalla is invited to our club today, but I haven't heard from him yet.
 
I'm looking forward to a five day weekend, using only one vacation day. This 80% full-time employment has some real bonuses on top of the obvious drawback of less money...

No great plans. Some nice long dog walks in the nicer weather, and I'm hoping that the snow on the back stoop melts enough that I can force my way out there and get the door opening properly again (you can currently open it 6" and Lucy squeezes through...).

A five day weekend sounds great Bette, and I hope you'll really enjoy it. I thought of doing the same but wanted to work. I value supporting my family.
 
I have full time permanent employment, Jae, and have had for 30 years. I'm approaching retirement. My only responsibility is my dog and two cats, although I help out my adult children as I can. My parents are long dead. I have done a lifetime's worth of family-supporting, and now choose to have an extra day off per week to ease into retirement and come up with some retirement plans that consist of more than posting to trolls on wondercafe.

I suppose I should also make some effort on the mammoth snow banks hemming in the bottom of my driveway. At present, the truck needs to do a little "bump and wiggle" to get out... Also, mightn't be too early to start a few heritage Italian paste tomato seeds.

BetteTheRed.......Sounds like a smart way to ease into retirement. It's definitely a big step, psychologically as well as financially. I chose to retire even though I had only a partial pension. But I decided to put into practice what I preach....We only need 'enough', not more than enough in order to live. Everyone seems to have advice about retirement, so here is mine: Do it your way!
 
I took yesterday off from supporting my family. I think it's time Zachary started pulling himself up by his own bootstraps and supported himself. Claire as well. After we buy them their first sets of bootstraps, I suppose.

Indeed. Everyone is in a different place with different needs and values. And some are of no discernable value at all.

Everyone has value chansen. Greater value than we can possibly adequately describe. We were all created in the imago Dei.
