God clearly didn't. We evolved over time. Those who say that evolution was the tool used by God have to pinpoint the exact moment we became human. Was it 200,000 years ago? 100,000? 10,000?
Before anyone dismisses chansen, he has a very important question for Christians who accept evolution. When you say "God loves everyone", who is the everyone?
Is it everyone in the species homo sapiens (ie. us)?
Is it everyone in the genus homo (i.e. adding in Neanderthals, Denisovans, Erectus, Habilis, maybe Naledi)? If God loved the other homo species, then why did only Sapiens survive (admittedly, absorbing some bits of the first two through interbreeding)?
Is it everyone in the hominini tribe, adding in Australopithecines and chimps?
You can keep going, because evolution says that we as a species don't stand in isolation and aren't really any more "special" than any other species on the tree of life. IOW, if you accept evolution, that we are just another step in an ongoing process of change, how can "everyone" mean anything other than all life, from unicellular all the way up to mammals?
Which is why I suggested when posting about the UU first principle that there is a good argument to be made that "inherent worth and dignity of every person" should be amended to "inherent worth and dignity of every being".
