Survey of UCC ministers

Great! So let's try to set one up with Metropolitan United.
That's up to Met and West Hill, chansen. Typically pulpit swaps are discussed by the worship committees of the two (or more) congregations.

Pulpit swaps often involve several congregations in a Presbytery.

I would just assume they wouldn't get someone off any list and handle it from within. Not as much fun to imagine that way, but more likely.

Though really, that's actually a good idea for how to handle Rev. Vosper - do some pulpit swaps. Have some ministers from other UCCan churches preach to West Hill, while she preaches at the corresponding church. There's exactly how this could have been handled. Start with Metropolitan United.

How much common ground would each minister-congregation pairing find? How would discussions go after the sermon? That would have been fascinating.
We had the previous minister from that congregation at our church.
Pulpit swaps are not that common at our church, though, we do tend to do share dministry in the summer.
Not sure how that plays out in their area.

Chansen, you do presume a lot about Gretta. and do keep taking this back to her.
It is boring and I understand Mendella's interest regarding one "gretta" thread.

Any interest in talking about the survey?

*shrug*

The thread was about a survey that was undertaken as a result of her claim. Though I suppose this should have gone in the other thread.

Pr. Jae: but why chip away at someone's saving faith. Also, what if there's someone there that day in the congregation who doesn't have faith. They need to hear the Word of God.

Inannawhimsey: I do think that the whole term atheist is a blasphemy in your BS. Just making an observation.
You bring up a hypothetical of someones faith being chipped at n the hypothetical someone who doesnt have faith
I think you are using these explanations to try to self explain your fear
Arent you really meaning yourself here?
Reminds me of the good old days when women werent allowed to vote because they were too emotional
How can those be converted who are just going to resist the Spirit? Anyway, I don't know which, if any, of the West Folk need to be converted. I'm not their judge.

Its a copout to say that you are not thier judge? Conversion takes skill and effort.
And ahoot resisting the spirit you are still so hypothetical. I resisted Jeebus' call for quite a long time '-- it was getting annoying like having a prank caller and not being able to block her. So I finally took the step partly out of a need to try to shut it up. One of the positive things that came out of dealing with a landlord of evil.
Now I have access to the Christian wifi :3 No data usage fees. And I see that just like the net it is.mostly porn.

Even though the UCC is having an identity crisis, I believe that any Christian Church should at minimum be able to admit that the primary function of a church is to lead people into relationship with God through Jesus Christ. Gretta is not qualified to do that.

She knows that, but she says, "So what! Same for 50% of my colleagues. Fire us all, which I don't think you will, or let us take this outfit in another direction."

"Follow me, and I'll prove there is no such thing as hell."

The truth is not in her.

You went a step too far. I'd bet at least half of the UCCan clergy do not believe that non-believers go to hell, or that there is a hell at all. If that's the litmus test, at least 50% would fail right there. Hell is your scare tactic, not something I've commonly heard clergy from the UCCan use. If ever.

Imagine Jesus rejected ... to the land of the imagination ... Egypt?

Such is the abstract side ... the other's IDe ...

Kind of stuff that drives realists off the edge ...

For the record, I'm an annihilationist basically. I do not believe in a hell of everlasting torment. Hell, to me, would simply be complete and utter separation from God. Since God is omnipresent, I do not believe that complete and utter separation from God is possible as long as we exist. I believe, therefore, that anyone outside salvation at the time of final judgement (whatever form that takes) simply ceases to exist. And I do not reject the possibility of universal salvation. "Hell," therefore, is a consequence. The consequence is eternal non-existence, but not eternal torment

'eL is where we're at ... considering the depth of darkness ... or that which we don't know ...

This appears to be by choice according to biblical faith in which God's children didn't wish to know ...

One can wish for a spark ... kind of thing seen in a louvers eyes ... when the veil parts ... there'as lot ...

I know exactly how it will feel like for Gretta Vosper if she is forced out of the UCCan. She will feel like a child who has been rejected by her birth family.

I can imagine rather like one who wormed her way into a home and gained control over gullible people loaded down with sins.

Sort of like religion in Lenin's house ... the opiate of the po' folk ... and thus a successful restaurant system down south of 'ere ...

Flatus in save anna, once know as anis, or concern is as ankh ... the red'l'd ass?

I have no such fear Inanna. I'm immersed in God's Word, and regularly partake in the Sacrament of Holy Communion.

No, it's a fact.

What's a fact ... considering the eternal nature of word that goes on and on? That's God according to the input of John ... a common aria ... as an un orthodox AUM'r! Chi smells some suite ...

Yet mortal man hates words piled in a hole as a' pos tole IQ ... buried intellect? It's tuff unseen ... like nomad IQ race ... the alternate rush!

I don't understand what you're saying.
