Denial is contagious it appears ... thus ignore and ignore antes is primarily preferred ...

Sentience fades over the hill until purely somnolent ... thus go set a watchmen ... a sentinel?

Is that odd or just Eire?

Question - Did anyone here actually give a rat sass about the book I was talking about? It was what this thread was to have been about. I won't waste my time making such a thread again if no one truly gave a den.

Jae ...
Twas very informative ... but not very acceptable to those biblically against knowledge and the trees thereof ... they like it like it was in anima land prior to arrival of the animus and thoughts that tickle the non-existent of subconscious parts ... lo' down pressed !

Actually, those were some of the more informative posts. I didn't say much because I generally liked the direction it was going and didn't see much in it to react to.

Well, the discussion of trinitiarian versus unitarian actually sort of fits, because the trinitarian theology is THE stumbling block between both Christian/Muslim relations and Christian/Jewish relations.

I didnt ask for bible vises , I ask for you to Post where the Ministers here say the bible is not Gods word

Please post It

I believe that something I once wrote may have stuck in airclean's head. At least that's my guess. He may be referring to a comment I once made that I believe that Jesus is actually the Living Word of God and that the Bible is divinely inspired witness, and that unless one understands it that way, the Bible simply becomes letters on paper. Something like that. I stand by that position.

The Bible in and of itself is nothing more than words on a page unless the Holy Spirit is working through it. I think we see many examples even here on WC2 of people who know the Bible very well, but who are not really impacted by it - and I do not refer only to the atheists among us. There are many who profess deep faith in Jesus who seem completely closed to the basic message of Scripture, fixating instead on the words of the Bible. The two are not the same thing. When concerned with discerning the message of Scripture, one is open to the Holy Spirit and one sees the forest. When fixated only on the words on the page, one is generally guided by one's preconceived notions and prejudices and beliefs and one sees only those trees one chooses to look at.

Volf actually does interest me for a variety of reasons, Jae. I didn't talk about this particular book because I haven't read it - so I apologize for that. I have on occasion wanted to congratulate you, though, for your persistence in trying to bring the community back to Volf's book on this thread, and probably there's more than just me who owe you an apology for not respecting those efforts.

So on Bette's reasoning, the claims of KKK members who self-identify as champions of justice should be accepted at face value.

"GODS Word The Bible" was written and interpreted by men. It didn't just appear out of nowhere one day.
I was wondering Neo. Ever have you ever received a letter , or legal paper from a lawyer .You do understand the secretary probably wrote the paper or typed it. It don't mean it is from the secretary how ever. But it came from the Lawyer. It is His words and is legal . So came the word of GOD. Though it was a man or women ,who wrote", what they were told. It came from GOD" and is very Legal.I have called The Bible The Living Word of GOD. But have been told by Ministers here , it is not. I guess they think as you, That the Bible was written by the mine of a person. Although I don't know any human that was on earth well GOD' was making an forming it. Makes you wonder don't it?
What's not legal tender is "how" you've interpreted that letter which was dictated by God. And this is the difference. You read John 14:6, for instance, in religious and theological terms. I read it in a much more global and universal way. And while you have the right to read it the way you do, what you don't have the right to, is to say how I'm following God is wrong because I see God differently.

Everything is relative to our own point of evolution, and we all witness the centre from a different angle. Therefore ours is not to judge.

I was reading them, and thought at times that he was quite open minded. But like all threads here in the cafe, we see something shiny and we waver.

Magpies, we're magpies, really, masquerading as humans.

(Marginally more respectfully, before the edit window closes, I thought that Allah and God were the same critter from post one, so I've largely been along for the ride...)

I thought right away that that writer is blessed & I wish him all the best -- any chance to persuade/lure other human beings into reducing their plank bonking via all those buts...love your fellow neighbour, BUT...:3
