Wrote a piece last night that seems to have enough space to go to 1000 words, and the group liked the first draft.

We shall see.

Feeling the pressure as has to be complete in a few weeks.

hope to find time to go off and write. it's a good space to do it.

That's a bit of a challenge sometimes. Finding a place to write. When we cruised to Hawaii in the spring, we had eight sea days (four each way) so I packed a laptop and found a spot on the stern that kind of worked. We do have five sea days on our next cruise but I might use the time for reading instead. That's what I usually do on cruises with sea days. The Hawaii cruise was the first time I've written on a ship.

At home, I go out on the deck on good days but that's over for this year. I need to figure something out because writing in my home office just offers too much opportunity for distractions (e.g. Mrs. M coming for IT support or to bug about other stuff). Just not sure what, yet.

One thing I am doing now is taking a week off work here and there to focus on writing. I keep having too much vacation carryover anyhow so may as well burn some for a good cause.
