I used to like KFC but they got rid of most of the stuff I liked. Things like the chicken fries and the older style of strips. The last time I tried eating their stuff I felt horrible afterwards - it was the spices I think.
We have a Mary Brown's nearby, I went once and they screwed up my order. People are excited because a Popeye's is coming or is maybe here already?
I think I would rather just throw the pub-style chicken strips or nuggets in the oven. I do have found memories of getting Candy's (Candi's?) chicken for the beach. It's not something I've really wanted though and for fast food it's not the cheapest option. I've only started eating chicken wings in the last few years though - and that's because Chemguy often wants to get enough to share. He'll pick out the ones where he knows I'll like the meat on them.

When it comes to grabbing something that takes longer than a few minutes I'd rather go to one of the better burrito places, and they're typically still faster.

ChemGal, are you sensitive to salicylates? My wife is, moderately!

Do a search on foods that contain salicylates ... astounding! Tomatoes, raisains and other fruits and vegetables in great proportion ... then spices ... well now that is extensive ... and then people believe life is simple when rendered down ...

Not that I know of, although I have been cautioned about aspirin being a trigger for things like asthma and related issues so I don't use that. I seem to do well with wine luckily. There are so many different diets out there that involve eliminating/reducing large numbers of foods - low histamine, nickel-free, low FODMAP, etc. so it can be difficult to figure out what to try. My food issues don't appear to be severe, the worst is the fish one and even then the allergic reactions I've had haven't been too serious although that can change.
I know Indian food is an issue. With KFC it might be something similar, or it might be as something as simple as too much black pepper along with their oil.
