That would have been cool. One night a few years ago we were in our hot tub in Calgary when a large fireball flew across to the south west where it blew up over southern BC. Just enormous luck that we saw it.

This thread has been quiet for a while, but there is some Canadian space news out today. Apparently, a Canadian is going to be literally "over the moon" with his first trip into space. Jeremy Hansen, one of our new class of astronauts, has been named to the crew of Artemis II, which will orbit the moon to test and prepare for the Artemis III mission, which will actually land.

Speaking of moons, while searching for more info about the above, I read that the earth actually has two moons. The other moon or quasi moon is called, Kamo'aolewa and it accompanies our planet in astral cycles.
Am I the last to know this? because I never heard of this before.
It was first spotted in 2016 and will be with us for 300 more years.

I think there's a Scishow around on the subject. IIRC, while the Moon we see every night is more or less permanent (on human time scales) the Earth does occasionally pick up small asteroids and such which may then orbit it for a while.

These things exist in other orbits ... as thoughts beyond some confined orbits ... these die and generate obits ... some not very lasting! Thus transcendence ... id'll passes? Box end canyons ... closed matters!
