In the "We Were Wrong" thread, @chansen posted, "We need a chart of beliefs here..."

How do you self-identify when it comes to beliefs?

For example...

I am a Christian, a moderate Calvinist, a missional Christian and a Baptist.

Please note: this thread is not intended to be a place to challenge, mock or debate with one another.

There are around 45 thousand religious denominations worldwide. Comprising of approximately 70% of the population. Which really makes it about 5.3 billion denominations.
I myself am a Humanist. In your eyes I'm also an atheist. But I don't like to label myself that way. As it is a negative term from a theistic perspective.

I am not entirely sure.:eek::D

Okay, I am an agnostic, holding that metaphysics are a matter of personal, subjective faith and unprovable by rational or empirical means.

Beyond that, my own personal, subjective faith is a bit variable, though a concept of a Cosmos that is filled with wonder and beauty being the source of our being seems to be at the heart of it. Except on Tuesday. :)

I am evolving.
I began in one place in the Christian faith, but through the process of learning how (rather than being told what) to think, I am changing. I am growing. I am developing. I doubt that I'm finished yet, for there is much more to learn, always. I am a follower of Jesus, a disciple, a learner.
I often identify as 'Christian', but in recent years, the term has had so much baggage attached to it, sometimes I wonder about its usefulness as an identification for myself. Still, I am a disciple, a learner, a follower of Jesus of Nazareth.

I'm a Christian with universalist leanings.

I'm a member of the United Church of Canada. Of all our faith statements, "A New Creed" resonates with me the most deeply.

I am a follower of Jesus of Nazareth.

In terms of denominations, I was first a member of the United Church of Canada, and then the Fellowship of Evangelical Baptist Churches in Canada. I'm currently an adherent of the Korean Baptist Convention.

Oh, and I graduated from a transdenominational seminary.

How unusual for you ... unusual and strange things as info can cause crack in the unification theory! Leaves me as an outlander ... at some distance (ultimate definition) to those that believe they've gathered something ... very little it appears in essence of the greatest soul on earth ...

In essence would it be better to be out of the pious state as a rule of fixation of thoughts?

There are those that believe that beyond secular world all else if superfluous ... thus well up there ... as holes go in the dark domain ...

I feel, in some ways, "forced" to be Christian. I'm a reluctant Christian, completely agnostic, and totally non-theistic.

But it still soothes me. And I often quietly weep on Sunday mornings in my little spot, usually alone.

I am John, son of Ron, son of Joseph, son of John. Back further than that an we have to adopt a Scottish context.

I am also John, son of Jean, daughter of Mabel. Never met my great grandparents on Mom's side. They also come from a Scottish context eventually.

I have been flavoured by sitting at the feet, so to speak, of Bolt, Wolters, Hobbs and Anderson among others.

I have been shaped by the writings of Bolt, Wolters, Anderson, Bunyan, Calvin, Mouw, Schwartz and others.

I have laughed with Thomas, Moranis, Levy, Flaherty, Ramis, Candy, O'Hara, Martin, Short, Colbert, Stewart, Yankovic and others

I have raised the roof with Mercury, Volz, Hartmann, Schlitt and others.

I laugh, I cry, I breathe deeply and easily in the cool of forest shade at all times of day and year. I tolerate large cities.

I make mistakes and on good days I learn from them.

And that is just the surface.

That's Maas (flow) of mass or superfluous words ... something that could boil up at any time ... and allow the light of Hart as Levite or some sacred process of learning that's underhandedly partisan ... underground folks? Christ be the spark that Set sass off ... thus much to brae about ... a huge mystery ... great numb in us fogs! Num buss or nimbus ... Jac be nimble is the line and thus Jacqueline ... quille lines the pot ... of that which quilles us?

Linguistic studies can put the head in a spin ,,, and still it appears that word source is nothing ... and I'm told nothing goes on and on ... nothing like that kind of abstract!

Thus immortal darkness to amuse the mortals with mystery ... but don't mention it to those no wishing to hear such matters on site! Thus blinking blindness ... over the don;t say it bit about connections in the dark --- Shaman'sway ...

Word can be unravelled to a point ... sometimes called Pix Seas ... ripples/wrinkles there stir up the physical side in essence ... like spiral waves in the Milky Way ... this too can go round in redaction ...
