What's in your purse

I'm travelling lighter these days - got a "sashbag" recently - you can google it if interested. Cross shoulder, distributes weight front & back, with little to no bulk at the hip. Better for my neck & doesn't slide off my shoulder. Lots of zipped & open pockets. But less overall space. I'm finding it workable though - and it could even accept my Lumix camera & passports on holidays.
So -
cash (bills & coins)
a few credit cards in RFID pocket
pen
lipstick & lipbalm
glasses
cell phone
points cards/gift cards/Tim's card
small collection of pills etc.
comb, sometimes a wide headband
a few tissues
gum

I bought a larger purse than I usually use last time. It has turned out to be a good thing. I'm strict and generally only carry necessary items like a wallet because my neck does not like additional weight. If I have something "unusual" in my purse, it will be a small knitting project such as a pair of socks. I put the project in a small bag and into my purse for times when I have waiting time or time to knit a few rows.

You're well behaved then. I have a tendency to fill whatever size I have, so I stick to a small-medium. My current bag is a casual "thirty-one" shoulder bag that I picked up for $1 at a garage sale.

My purse is pretty simple. The old guy has blanket permission to rummage as long as he doesn't drop anything out of it...

I looked at some images, I like the idea, but they all appear too small for my needs. I recently picked up a crossbody type backpack as I find I'm dragging around my purse or fullsized backpack when it's not really ideal just for the basics.

I gave permission to people to dump out my purse to make an emergency call from my cell to Chemguy if needed - unfortunately it's long distance.

Meds and related supplies, cell phone for emergency, hand sanitizer, keys. I think of tissues as being a need too, I'm quite uncomfortable without them.

Appreciated ... some carry useless baggage ... tis nutz! The hormones thereof drive some men into irrational frenzies ... if you see through this chaos ... you're called odd and abnormal ... sort of like a reverse PMS or veritable PTSD ... a syne ...

In some men it is obviously out there ... like superficial ... compared to the buried stuff ... ineffable?

Not fun to need a tissue and discover you don't have one.

As for tissues. I always have one with me if I am carrying my glucometer. Surprising how often I pull it out for reasons unrelated to the glucometer.

Lipgloss, mascara, sunglasses, small hairbrush, travel sized hand lotion ID, bankcard, keys, phone (right now it's in my hands), a couple of crumpled up receipts, empty pack of gum, a tampon, a sample packet of Robax, and...cookie crumbs (took home a cookie wrapped in Kleenex and forgot about it, half survived, half didn't - I guess I'd better clean it out.)

I don't do purses.

I will say that with my years of Scouting I am always appalled at how poorly my wife packs hers.

If my back packs were ever as sloppily arranged as that they'd be all off balance and absent many useful gadgets.

Needless to say I am not invited to give packing tips anymore.

Why don't they go over this stuff in guiding?
