I actually had pretty good experiences when informing teachers something isn't right. Once it was because I went home and told my parents about something I learned and my dad said that's not how it works. Told the teacher the next day 'my Dad says you're wrong about x', he was then invited into the class to teach about it as it related to his job. When I had a teacher who got horribly confused teaching use metric system conversations and started doing it backwards, which I demonstrated with my fingers/arms that there was no way 3 cm equaled 300000 km (much bigger than my arm span) she allowed me to step in and teach the lesson.

I'm just thinking with the internet myths like the tongue mapping, as an example might be known to be debunked by kids fairly often.

Oh, I don't know, chemgal, the internet seems to me a terrible swamp of conspiracy theories in which many people get very lost.

Information isn't a lot of good unless you know by what rules one evaluates it.

haha I'm not saying the internet is a great source for debunking. Just that their might be some information that kids come across that gets them to question the teacher. Growing up most of the sources that lead me to do that were my parents, another course, common sense, or an educational tv show. The internet can be one of those sources now too and is more accessible at times.

Very difficult spot for those that believe they are authorities in that "awl" thingy ... the carpenter's tool that can open a hole in the shadow of a tree ... tis something other than you might believe (dependant on where you come from ... if a stranger the closed house will treat you as alien)!

Then might the alien know something different than we're taught in certain absolute surroundings?
