What Legacy Does Trump Leave?

He declared a new legacy yesterday in a loud speech (the loudest voice wins?) and we observe to see who believes his statements without question ... after all we are directed by the established power to, not question. So the virtue goes un identified ...

Does this type of political rant expand while the virtue contracts? It is all downhill after that ... enter Chansen in the climb ... to regain high spirits after the folly? It is often how it goes because of those that will not put an effort into seeing what is buried and profane ... it seems to be like pride and excess confidence!

Can such errors be bad Eire in a nation? What's Eire? Just another unknown word in the great vocabulary! Word is like that to us ... muchly alien and unknown ... thus crazy advocates! Some are for love and others are for intelligence ... go for the medium ... pure passion can leave one blinded by the flames ... not a myth! Jesus said ... as one of those characters beyond normal earth-like groundings ... smeared on the page boies (buoyed)! Boy was that sapient ... to find a place to lay out hidden ... verily sacred!

Exceptions? To my observations; to every rule there are a minimum of 1, or 2 exceptions and often innumerable things beyond our comprehension ... is that ultimate farce to those stuck on something? Opposing that is nothing of interest ... thus the vast Gap eh?

Many fall for it without knowing how to maneuver in open zones ... space? Thus inertial devices ... spin involvement in all degrees of expansion and extortion. Should one differentiate as if divined ... what a split!

Could this cause self destruction if not bothered by the alternate portion of the networking? So it goes down ... alas Einstein said in some domains it is impossible to tell up from down, etc. thus abstract! Might something reason while nothing does not?

Gramps declared love was nothing ... possibly lacking that character ... reason Toby? Research the understanding of that word ...
"God is good"

Thus our motive to be nothing and there the folly! Is that something demonic like Freud's comment that mortals have a death wish ... so he, she, it goes ... everything ... bottom lined? It is scripted ... divisively? Y's ... are those letters ...

His travel limitations on other countries is going to help Canadian tourism, according to G&M.

So, down on exports, up on tourism, and it might balance out? That’ll be good news for the west coast, as we have 4 seasons and most of winter is usually warmer here. At least, it’s a silver lining for now (kind of, I suppose). I’m not feeling confident about 2026 and what other surprises he might spring, or how Carney will handle our problems, but he’s not doing his own country any favours with the tariffs and border restrictions.

Tourism fluctuations cause pain in specific places and sectors, but they are not decisive for either country's overall economic survival
Well put. Here in Canada places like the Rockies and Niagara Falls (there's others but those are two obvious examples) live or die by tourism. Many more areas do not. The US is similar. Florida gets bucketloads of tourists once you factor in both visitors and people catching cruises, Vegas and NOLA are much like Niagara Falls in that they live or die based on tourism, but places like North Dakota or Arkansas not so much.

Theoretically, tourism in one part of Canada should benefit all of Canada. At least with sales tax. Tourists spend a lot of money where I live. We get the who’s who visiting here, also - they own vacation property here and spend lavishly. The US doesn’t have federal sales tax.

Not that it actually changes the housing crisis or anything. It drives costs for locals up to be in a tourist/ part time resident city that rich people pay a lot to visit.

Except only 5% of any sale is federal. In most provinces, even ones with harmonized sales tax, the provincial portion is bigger (Ontario's 13% HST divides as 5% federal GST and 8% Ontario PST) since provinces are constitutionally restricted from collecting direct taxes like income tax (which is why the provincial portion of income tax is collected by CRA outside Quebec). And realistically, some of that federal sales tax stays in the province where it is collected. So yes, it would have some general benefit, but no more so than any other industry and possible less than some. The biggest benefit is still going to be in the local area where tourist dollars go to the bottom line of local businesses and get paid back out as salaries or wages to local workers. Actually, realistically, the biggest benefit federally is probably keeping people employed in the tourist areas so that they pay income tax.

South of the 49th, the US doesn't have a federal sales tax so the benefits of tourism are even more localized than here. They really don't have a good system in place for redistributing wealth from places like California and NY (rich states that are also major tourist areas) to the poorer places like the rural South. Not really even transfer payments like we have.

Is the position of president increasing the quality of will and power over intellect ...? Is there consequence?

What ensues ... some kind of tis Sue? A thick meme brane that will ossify? Ossification process or just plain fossilizing ... aging or maturing out of existence as there is no room forethought ... a din ...

This portrait of a blue-eyed Jesus was painted at Trump's Mar-a-Lago New Year's Eve party.

Trump then autographed the painting and auctioned it off for $2.75 million.

It was a great 'deal' - Judas only got 30 pieces of silver!

The powers love inflationary processes and their effect on Eire and gases ... there being a counter between solar and cosmological waves ...

Matters that we are told we shouldn't know about or have intelligence upon ... thus vegetation is planted!

For f***'s sake, really? This is basically kidnapping another country's leader. And so far, only Venezuelan allies like Cuba and other countries antagonistic to the US like Iran have spoken out. Where's the outrage? Just because Maduro is an ass himself, developed nations are probably going to let this slide even though they should be calling the US out for it. "Who's next?" becomes the question if there's no strong response either globally or from within the US. There have been some rumblings from politicians about the constitutionality of the whole Venezuelan operation but not sure we'll see much happen unless at least one house changes hands in November.

The Legacy of the Don-Roe Doctrine ?

Announced by President Donald Trump on January 3, 2026—mere hours after the US special forces raid that captured Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro—the Don-Roe Doctrine (a self-branded update to the 1823 Monroe Doctrine, blending "Donald" with the Roosevelt Corollary) declares unequivocal American dominance in the Western Hemisphere.

Trump stated: "American dominance in the Western Hemisphere will never be questioned again," while promising US oversight of Venezuela until a "transition" and access for American oil companies.

Potential Long-Term Legacy
  • Revival of Hemispheric Hegemony: Echoes the original Monroe Doctrine's anti-European stance and Roosevelt's "big stick" interventions, but updated for 21st-century threats.
The Don-Roe Doctrine's legacy will hinge on Venezuela's post-Maduro trajectory: stable transition and economic gains could cement it as a masterful stroke; chaos or backlash might brand it a hubristic overreach.

As Trump himself quipped,

"We sort of forgot about it [the Monroe Doctrine]... We don’t forget about it anymore."

Yeah, this is definitely a manifestation of the Monroe Doctrine. OTOH, that doctrine also left the Eastern Hemisphere to the European powers and there's been mixed signals on that front. He keeps wavering on where to go with Ukraine and Russia and it is becoming apparent that he is not averse to intervening in Iran or helping Israel do so. And, of course, the continuing US meddling that lets Israel get away with genocide in Gaza and, increasingly, the West Bank. So it's a version of the Monroe Doctrine, perhaps, but it seems to leave a lot of leeway for US intervention even outside their supposed sphere of influence in the Americas.

Hmm, one week after China and Russia pledged their support for Venezuela......

China has invested lots of money in Venezuela and as of December China is set to import 600,000 barrels a day from them, (the majority of Venezuela's daily production.
And Russia has the nerve to question the aggression and takeover of another country by condemning the USA?

It does sound like the goal here is for the US to seize control of the country and its oil. My bet is that the US sees control of Venezuelan oil as a bargaining chip with China or something as well as getting those profits flowing to US companies, which were largely kicked out under Chavez, Maduro's predecessor.

CNN's live feed of events around the whole affair:

It is all about owning the problem ... yet w/o the know-how of the cure!

Thus the possession-ism takes over and eventually the problem owns you ... if you don't have a good grasp ...

I believe in Corinthians there is a script about how the storytellers and interpreters should talk to God and themselves ... a hard to understand bit of literary device! As in the concept of literary devices ... not to be taken literally ... however characters will counter the concept thereof ...

Is that enough to set the Pan Demon ian ism ... flat out stupid?

I wonder if the soldiers loyal to their country will hide their uniforms and keep their weapons? Insurgency could be a big problem for the US. I expect the Canadian government to be its usual cowardly self and say nothing until some European countries to issue their statements. Trump stated he wanted to take over Canada.

This should be a warning to Canada and other countries. Are we prepared or at least considering we should be prepared?
"Right now European nations that border Russia are rapidly increasing defense preparations, accelerating military spending, rebuilding infrastructure, and enhancing civilian resistance, because of heightened fears of Russia aggression." AI
For now this is seen as preventative warfare as other countries in Europe have weapons and armies prepared for war but have never had to use it.
It makes me sick to say this, but are we too complacent about this? Are we sitting ducks?
Or is it not that scary to allow the states just to walk in and we become the United States under a dictator?)

We could do something empty and declare invasion of a neighbor as evil ...

Some powers say that stupidity is effective ...

In blind faith that everything will be OK lead us down a dangerous road to being dull and ignorant?

Some modern philosopher did say once that knowledge would load a soul with a sense of ownership ... and thus we are possessed with confliction ...

It is best not to realize this stuff is cognizance ... and thus we don't ... intellect goes as being repelled by passions ...

People without soul do not grasp this easily --- Louis Armstrong (as quoted from the narrative Blue Jazzes ...)

In virtue all things must be buried covered and sacred as a gnostic under stroke ...

I will go for the abstract ... once defined from one source as a mysterious place ... the absolute is said to be ultimate and who's bene there? Flyers, floaters or alien drifters as Irish cranks! Fore*ced bubbles and confined circæ ...

Is that profound for the diggers ... way down!

A woman in France viewed this bubbling up and declared an in sane saint ... sanity being valued in spots beyond us! Out-there ...
