We’ve long been that. After capitalist globalization took hold following Reagan for sure. But under Trump it’s more duress for us, rather than a neighbourly relationship, and Carney is not really standing up to him. I felt it happening after Carney got elected (was a somewhat hopeful skeptic beforehand but I didn’t vote Liberal because voting in a world banker…yeah, no. People becoming line items with policy pressure from the despot big brother was always the risk.) The elbows up was performative. I don’t know what he can do - or maybe he is doing as he planned anyway. Nevertheless, it’s changing Canada in more ways than we realize, and not for the better. I don’t think we should be sheep who accept all Carney’s policy decisions though. Nor, our provincial leaders falling in line.
