Maybe Carney can take Trump hiking and lose him up in the mountains somewhere. I think the Americans would be as thankful as anyone, at least the ones I know. Is Canada still a G7 nation? Seems a odd that they are hosting. However if one observes the chosen location, perhaps they hope the natural splendor of Canada will overshadow its economic decline. Letting the wolf in the hen house might not be such a good idea. If Trump thinks he wants Canada now -- wait till he sees Kananaskis.

Trump has now been humiliated around the world, (again) as the international courts and US courts have now ruled against most of his trade wars (tariffs) as illegal and unconstitutional according to the ruling by the United States Court on International trade.
Of course he will appeal this, even though no president is allowed to enforce tariffs for unjustified reasons.
Canada will still have auto and aluminum tariffs but those associated with fentanyl will be cancelled as unjustifiable...from what I understand.

By this list Canada is the 8th largest economy and since China (#2 on the list) is not counted as part of the G7 for other reasons yes Canada is a G7 country.

The G7 is ultimately whoever the G7 wants at the table, even if they nominally use GDP. Look at the post-Communist period when they added Russia to make the G8, which ended for obvious reasons.
