The end of affirmative action and diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) programs through executive orders brings us back to the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the Equal Protection Clause of the 14th Amendment. That’s a good thing. It means a return to an emphasis on nondiscrimination, equal opportunity, and merit-based advancement where more individuals get a shot at attaining the American Dream — the very conditions we achieved 60 years ago, which DEI and affirmative action have since undone.

As a Black woman born into poverty in rural Virginia, I benefited tremendously from the Civil Rights Movement. But today's DEI policies are not advancing that cause.

DEI csn be applied in helpful and unhelpful ways. Quotas are not terribly helpful. Selection by criteria that are not tied to race, gender, or class and a process that minimizes opportunities for bias are needed. If a process serms to favour any category by a significant margin, we do not have a merit based process.

For a category to matter, it must be an agreed upon category, right?

And a category that can literally be anything, like gender identity under CSJ (with even neopronouns like fishself) as a ferinstance....would that apply do you think?

And significant margin would also.mean some shared agreed upon category (probably.some.aspect of fairness I would.imagine...which would.mean a mutually shared agreen upon notion of fairness)

Why oh why would anyone vote for Trump and should we pass on any disgust, etc we have for Trump on to all of them?

One telling thing for me was the passover of power between Biden Admin & the next one. If they had been truly scared, concerned, they would have (like the shameful shenanigans they pulled during Trump's Trial) tried more to stop him

The fact they didn't told me something...

So again, I find the best way to find oot aboot something like "Why did you vote for the Leopard Eating My Face Party" is to actually ask them and to avoid attributing sin (and any feelings of disgust, hate, etc onto said groups) to people; we have already been through this with the first term, the pandemic, Ukraine, the Ottawa Occupation and so forth and all it does is divide, demonize and other.

There are visceral.forces at work here. Loving the chaos and division. We are like the Krell who unfortunately release the ID creature, running loose...

Find the human among all this and encourage it. Nurture it. Without expectation of personal survival. Because there are bigger things than one's continued existence.

Still can't believe one of my friend's response to me having a wider view -- she says I should not go against the good, which she sees Mump doing...so I try not to mention anything Mump related to her now...she seems to very much be in TDS land, tied in heavily with her beliefs (though she bristles at my use of that word) in evil aliens being ultimately behind the plan to genocide humanity through various means like Climate Change agenda, UN, WHO, covid pandemic, chemtrails, haarp...one of the reasons I wear earbuds when I am at home...and she is a wonderful and loving and generous person who took me in and loves animals...

There are scattered, dispersed choices; sometimes known as eclectic! This occurs when no one knows as Jesus last words declared! There after we were known by those in heaven as Saint UPid and thus up it we arose ... is that Beta?
 
Do folk that once supported ultimate power now alter their choice? Some ... some don't because they deny learning something because learning is a pain ... look what folk in dark robes do to folk that find out anything ... exposé?

EH ... was that the way it was supposed to go when a constitution of 3 parts came forth? It was passed off as abstract ... a type of imaginary obsession ... sometimes compulsive and mysterious ... sacred even! Thus none reads into it with any depth ... what? This is what really gets me. Using a public messaging system for a meeting of that level is insane to start with, encrypted or not. And to not check and, if needed, vet the attendee list? Nuts.

If they used a properly configured internal system, like a private Teams tenant, they would only have been able to invite internal users, i.e. government employees. Out of box, I can only set up chats and meetings with people from my corporate group. To bring it outsiders, I have to use an emailed invitation or other means. That's the kind of system senior government managers, cabinet members, etc. need to be mandated to use in any government.

So colour this IT ape unimpressed. It's the kind of thing that happens when people think they know what they are doing, but really don't.

Them lying to cover it up just compounds the problem, it does not solve it.
 
Accountability is a huge problem in the US administration. Lack of accountability in public service is an issue here at times, too, but I have never heard of anything on the scale we are seeing down there. That journalist from The Atlantic at least did the right thing. Journalists are how people can learn about s**t like this and hold people accountable. Hope he doesn't get punished for it but I am worried. Can he claim refugee status in Canada or the UK if needed, I wonder?
