No he’s not. He’s a weasely Trump puppet with better vocabulary and Justin is burnt out to the point of serious incompetence - some jaw dropping problems have occurred under his watch. We like to pat ourselves on the back because maybe Canada as a whole is polite…mainstream Canada worships politeness but we’ve got some really f’d up problems and creepingly fascistic policies happening here. I’d say on Track 2 MAiD we’ve got a head start on the world stage with some pretty damning human rights abuses that are only going to result in the killing of more marginalized people so it’s time for Canadians to get off our high horses and open our eyes to what’s happening here too. Sure, but anyone in office, in Canada is going to be scrutinized to death. Lately that's what we do....and that's good, to a point....but not to the point that decisions can't be made to move forward. Not every decision will sit right with everyone.

Idk I can’t stand any of them, even NDP because none of them are stopping Track 2 MAiD. It’s a fascist policy and the Cons won’t make it less so. They will make it worse.

An important fundamental difference about our parliamentary system is that the PM does not have the kind of executive power a President does. He is the leader of the largest party in Parliament and holds power at their mercy. His party can dump him and if the governing party does not have a majority, Parliament can dump his government. In fact, technically a majority government could fall on a confidence vote if enough of its own MPs voted against it. It just never happens because they would potentially be voting themselves out of a job. And no impeachment trial is needed, just a simple majority vote in the House. And to get anything done, they have to put it through the House. The kind of executive power US Presidents including Trump have tried to wield with varying degrees of success just does not exist here. Even Orders in Council have limits on them and must be approved by Cabinet.

So the best way to keep a government in check is to hand them a minority and make sure there a couple strong third parties they have to work with (currently, the NDP and Bloc, with the NDP being the one currently supporting the government). There's no way the kind of executive shenanigans we see in the US can happen under such a regime.

So I would say that she has every right to be speaking up given that he is an actively campaigning politician with a lot (a LOT) of question marks hanging over his head.
