Today a big decision from the SCOTUS ... whether to encourage criminal behavior, or not?

(interesting to hear what this "means"; that he isn't an insurrectionist? that Jan 6 wasn't an insurrection? Who knows...human beings are so good at categorizing things, trying to cut infinite reality up into finite boxes...)

It also apparently means Congress has never made a decision on this in 150+ years

I just saw him talking about Saudi Arabia where he had a brain glitch over the weekend. It looked like his eyes rolled back in his head at the same time. I wondered if he wasn't having some sort of seizure. He was speaking gibberish. He wasn't just swapping names. It looked like a seizure or something.

Good deal, yes. That should be the focus :3

Some people, including the people who took him off the state ballot, had already convicted him...thus the Fed Supremes had to come in to put the kibosh on that

Rule of Law for all, trying to avoid TDS for or against. Blind Lady Justice and all that jazz

All of this must be so good for USA legacy media bottom line? I want them to survive...I hope they have a plan beyond Trump?

A pandemic, global inflation, USA civil war, Confederate Wing of the GOP created culture war. Internet. Cell phones. Generalized anxiety (pick and choose, Ukraine, Gaza, pandemic, global weirding, etc). 25/8 news. USA at woke level 9. Ligers and muffins getting along.

That is neat aboot the 150 years. What happened 150 years ago?

That was when this amendment was created, after the Civil War. They apparently were in a climate where they expected more uprisings. Perhaps the amendment needs more amending. I agree, this type of thing hasn't happened before. Other presidents who came close resigned or left or whatever.
 
Maybe an over busy situation with the SCOTUS ... perhaps with their preoccupation with their political extremism rather than justice as distributive ... thus condensed, sublimated and made dense ... it is a physical mind divide to allow one side to conquer ... the other goes down in history as a lost hoary zone ... frightening t the survivors ... could led to OCD ... a type of disarray ...

All it really means, as I understand it, is that states don't decide when this amendment applies. Congress has to. And with the current state of Congress...yeah, good luck on that one.

Can he still be sent to jail if he was ever found guilty of something, before or after he may be elected?

From what I've seen and heard from people who are smarter than I am with this, it was the right decision. If they had allowed it a can of worms would have been opened.

It sounds like that is possible. Apparently there are people at work on this. After all, if a convicted felon can't vote, how can they be president?

Yeah, can you imagine an election where he's on the ballot in some states but not others? Could get bizarre. Not to mention effectively disenfranchising his supporters in states where he is left off.

And giving states that much power would cause problems.

I expect a man like him would also use it to feed his victim narrative. We don't want that!
