But what would then happen to that game of divide and conquer as devised by gods of the past? There could be no winners/one'rs ... as isolated singularities that made the cosmos erupt! Did you know mahaineim in Hebrew is an island state ... perhaps the other side of the river or fiord in differing traditions ... out there ... borderline people with thoughtfulness?

Something we are told not to think about ... but goes on as sacred .. a cover-up of Levantine ... flat bred as laid out and lyre 'd about ?
 
Certainly something that the singular (mono) thinker would not wish to extend to ... that strange other ... alas something I find interesting to learn contrary to biblical wisdom about love ... a domain where thought goes astray?

I'll take the dualism and hope in the eternal screwup that the other guise is thinking ... the coupling of those across the whetted divide ... or some other satyr? Tis a humbling Job it is said ...

Right, except a pluralistic country can't really call itself a Christian country, nor can a diverse world, but the common thread of human need for common human decency runs through it all. It was really a interesting article. She reminds of what's happening for women denied clergy positions in the Catholic church still, even though positive developments have happened and hopefully continue to.

So for you a Christian country need not necessitate that most or all of the country's people actually have Christian faith. Why even call it Christian then?
 
There is a whole class of people that question why we have displaced old understandings ... like God is infinite ... inclusive of ongoing stories ... things not grasped easily by those conditioned against mental process ... and thus deny the logical tree as set up as a great chart or plan ... Magna Carta gone wrong?

They can't even contemplate the infinite even encompassing nothing ... a big vacancy ... the gross devoid on wisdom? Could be a satyr as I am conditioned that I am not to have a conscious nature about such things as laid down by my parents as internalized rules .. individual observations were disallowed ... like a well-rounded earth as a dirt Ba'aL ... communal consciousness?

Is this something to tap into like social theory that is the vagas sort of thought ... a nervous bundle of ten naught things !

Even neurological manifestations require a myth to carry thoughts ... those stuck on old teaching deny futures ... today is all there is? Thus the future is all shot to pieces by religious capitalism that holds the successful in their grip! In spirit the soul is freed ... unknown to the spiritually pure .. as in emotional states one is not allowed even minor thoughts ...

No, I don't think everyone needs to have a Christian Faith. I think everyone needs to listen to the Golden rule and treat others as they'd like to be treated.

I don't care if you call it Christian or not, and neither would the vast majority of those Christians who think as I do, but if you're going to use the term, I think that my definition covers it. I think that people who call the U.S. a Christian nation are wrong, for instance.

What would you call a nation founded on Christ principles?

You also relize that the standard bar of the golden rule has be raised high only by Christ
 
It's just that when some see the bar being raised in the name of Love for the betterment of humankind they turn around and claim that Christ disapproves and shun them for it. That's not right. It doesn't sit well with me - nor do I believe it was the way Jesus himself lived.

Another thing is the definition of "salvation". Now, when the world changes into the future - is it not a "new world" or "new age" (as some interpret the words) compared to what it was before? We are called to do on earth as it is in heaven. Now, we all fall short of the mark, but isn't the point to get better at how we live our lives in relation to one another? Why defeat people trying to do that? Would Jesus have done that to the good samaritan? And maybe faith in living that way saves humanity into the new world - but we'll only know we've arrived when we get there - so there is no way to guess when, just to know we still have work to do and keep on keepin' on.

I disagree , what there showing is , that Christ loves us while we are in sin, evil , Just like Christ ask us to love and pray for evil doers
 
I'm saying I believe all of humanity has the opportunity to live by good conscience toward one another and when we see that opportunity opening up, why shun it and call it evil? There are some evils just too obvious and horrible to call them anything but evil. And there are insidious evils, like poverty, that too easily get ignored. But there are also really good people across religious lines in the sand that do their very best and share a common thread that I do not believe Jesus would disapprove of.

I guess it depends on how one defines having faith. Is faith believing in a certain theological set of precepts or is just a sense of knowing "this is the right way to live, and this is not?"

I don't know why I believe the way I do but it keeps taking precedence in my heart of hearts and anything that cuts decent people out because they don't subscibe to an arbitrary human interpreted rule that happens to hurt large segments of marginalized people, like LGBT for example, never makes sense.

everyone has faith, we cant get away from it, but in this case we are speaking of the unknown, the spiritual realm , the after life , in this sense faith is placing your trust for your being In the Hands of the Creator and all that He is and has done

Let's see - is walking around the homeless person on the way to buy designer clothes an evil act? I have seen it downtown countless times and although I don't buy designer clothes I too have walked past homeless people to get wherever I thought was more important, and bought a Starbucks, that's kind of evil. And I would like to live better. If we're aware I believe we can.
