What are you doing to worry less?

Dust bunnies are such an interesting phenomenon! I wonder if they are universal, or inhabit some cultures and climates more than others. And now you've eradicated yours right before Easter P3!!

This was my morning activity - moved some more seedlings into pots :-) In a few days I will probably start a last batch of seeds ...

Are dust bunnies an easter categorical item?

I get this image of oestrus! Then the Walrus ... with notorious words about consummation of hardshells!

When my brother was in hospice care in Victoria, I went for a walk outside the hospital grounds & in the spring sunshine one day - in a neighbourhood that your photos are reminding me of - it was so pleasant to feel the sunshine & see the blooms. Thanks for sharing your excursion.

I try to carry on more or less as usual. Cooking, walking the dog, laundry...... I do find myself more obsessive about washing though

I find I get anxious when I have to do things. Like I was going to grocery shop yesterday and spent a lot of Sunday night awake trying to plan the trip. When I would wash, when I would wear gloves, what I would use for a mask. ......

Lastpointe, Do you live in a place big enough that there’d be a store that supports online shopping? Here in Victoria there are two. The staff put your order together. You can just pick it up. My sister in Kamloops does that. I had been doing online shopping for a while, but I also chose delivery.

It was hard to figure out how find an open slot for delivery. Formerly, in old life that seems eons ago, it was trivial. I was rummaging around on the site and I found a statement that the slots reset on Tuesday. It was late Monday night. I waited. Sure enough, at midnight they reset.

Put the perishables away and leave the rest for three days. The should kill any viruses.

What? Me worry?

There are a number of houses in my neighbourhood who have put up Christmas lights, one has put out all their Christmas and Halloween blow up decorations (which my puppy must guard me from every time).

So it got me reflecting on my own practices, and also wondering what my friends here have found helpful to 'worry less' in times of stress - not just now, but perhaps things you learned or adopted at another time that are now having some 'resurrection' (Easter reference intended:giggle: ).

I learned early enough that there are spheres of concern and spheres of influence.

I can be concerned about a great number of things.

I can only influence, relatively speaking, much fewer things.

If I invested all my mental energy in what I cannot control I would be lost and fearful. So instead, I invest most of my time and energy into the things I can control.

It might keep my focus narrow. Nose to the grindstone does that. Not that I am a burn the candle from both ends or burn the midnight oil kind of personality. I know my limits and respect them.

For sure that's an important distinction to be able to make @revjohn . I like that you used the term 'influence' rather than 'control' too.
