Has anybody seen the terrific Weight Watchers commercials on TV this season? They're set to the song "If you're happy & you know it ..." They identify all kinds of triggers for eating ... If you're bored and you know it, eat some food; if you're lonely & you know it, eat some food .... along that line. I think they're very clever.

Depends...
Chemguy saw that commercial and said sign me up! I looked at him funny and said, you know, it's not about teaching you to snack MORE. Yep - that's what he wanted.

Research into eating disorders suggests that binge eating is often triggered by restricting one's food intake too drastically. Worth keeping in mind.

I am down 2 pounds since christmas. Need to get down about 8 more to get to a spot whee i like to be. I got sidetracked with my leg but now things are getting back to normal.

I am determined to take e dog for longer walks, good for her and me. 2.5 k yesterday, 5k today. Gym and skiing should take care of the rest

I have trouble with chocolate at christmas for sure.

I saw those weight watcher commercials but not sure the message is right, at least for me.

Thinking of those who are trying to take off extra pounds that were gained over Christmas. Exercise is important, but food choices are key to weight loss. I haven't weighed myself since Christmas, but I know I put on a few pounds. Although the only treats I had were nuts, crackers, goat's milk cheese, and coconut milk ice-cream over Christmas, they are all high calorie treats. And calories are calories.

But, the extra pounds won't hurt me . . . as I didn't want to weigh any less than I did before Christmas.

@chansen - I can empathize with your unique weight challenges of trying to gain weight. I was in that place for over a year . . . and it was very difficult to gain weight. I was at my lowest at 98 pounds and knew I couldn't afford to lose anymore . . . and then enough healing must have taken place that I was able to start gaining. I know yours is a different issue (metabolism). Take care of yourself.

Mine is hardly a medical condition. "Looking scrawny" is not an official diagnosis. My only real problem would occur if my body decided to hibernate for a few months. I'd never make it out of my den. Given that humans are only lazy, but don't technically hibernate, I should be fine.

The challenge with the low body weight for people like my husband and son is no reserves to draw on should they get ill My husband's father who was built like them succumbed to pneumonia very quickly lea ving his wife with 4 young children.

@Tabitha , my past 6 months have had me fall off the wagon of fitness. I am doing ok, but, am not where I was. For my own health I need to get back on. When I was talking about my family, I mentioned that my oldestson & I have the same metabolism / build. That isn't quite right. I was quite thin until I was about 15. At that time, I was quite ill, in & out of the hospital, at sick kids, for approximately 3 months. I was unable to walk, and food was not appetizing., I eventually was on IV antibioltics for a long period of time at Sick Kids once it was diagnosed as osteomyelitis. I share that as maybe a coincidence or maybe not, but my metabolism seemed to have shifted after that. Addressed weight gain in my mid 20's via ww. I found the CrossFit program to be amazing and fun, just need to get back to something.

@Pinga you made incredible changes last year. My bet is even with 6 months of "Off the wagon" that you are still ahead of where you started last year. I'd like to encourage you to do something-even if not as intense as crossfit-to get ready for an active retirement

O I am now paid aup for yoga twice a week after work-with other school staff. Power Yoga (ashtanga) on Monday sand gentle yoga (hatha) on Thursday. Last week I was quite stiff and sore. Tonight I was able to bike 30 minutes on a yoga night.

2 lbs of the 4 I gained on my cruise are gone. Two more to go. That's the easy part, though. It's starting to work on going lower once I get back to my pre-holiday weight that will be the challenge.

Holiday weight is gone and my scale is even suggesting I've gone beyond that by a pound or two. OTOH, the more intense program I'm running on my stationary bike seems to bother my knees a bit so I'm figuring out other options.

Like a caste kette in the water ... Mobius Dicky ... the extension of Jonah! A real probe ... into the unknown, unseen and unspeakable?

91 lbs before my surgery nearly 4 years ago. I have put weight
back on but I am sure 1 boob didn't weight this much.:ROFLMAO::love:

ok weigh in is next week and the contest ends (but my journey will continue) 12 lbs lost as of today. (just over 5% of body weight)

I have been faithful with the twice a week yoga and watching my calories. I do need to do more exercise on non-yoga days.

Of late I've been counting calories using the MyFitnessPal app that I downloaded onto my phone from the Windows Store. Thus far I've dropped 6 pounds. I'm still obese though, with a BMI of 31.63.
