TRUMP - Some people think......... How do you feel?

Not to worry, they're not going to be around forever. Most of them are seniors.

That's what we said in the 60s. Don't get too excited by the next generation btw. I see lots of them. I'm seeing lots of "wrapped in cotton wool"/"needs a lot of hand-holding"...

I have some long term (20 years plus) experience as the unofficial leadership of the more progressive side of our congregation. I can tell you that there's a lot less correlation between age and philosophical leaning than you'd think.

Thus the struggle goes on ... between the irrational (desires) and that rational as black bird Pi (intellectuals round of ink welling up ...? Thus the spots and pixels in black ...

I notice that Putin is praising Trump and Trump is praising Putin and both are saying they can work together. The fascinating (and troubling) thing about the Republican Party is that Trump can insult Muslims, Jews, African Americans, Hispanics, women and who knows how many others and still lead the polls, but many Republicans are apparently upset that he says he can co-operate with Russia. That might prove his undoing!

Don't rush into that Maine with a trump card ... it could be as usual ... a bluff? Gael Winds that neither know anything about ... but are none-the-less confident ... as confidence men are ... if they don't see the dark side ... always good news ... WHO Gnoes?

Finally. Pernicious beasts. There, you should be good for at least another few.

No cultural Marxists were hurt during the writing of this post. But some were savagely poodled.

Can squids be rendered into whale oil? The why seminal whales ... sperms ... they can be a big thing in unconscious conversations ... silent intercourse! A' Moor tales ...

I'm afraid it's quite possible that Trump could win. This is the 1930s. And we'll all living in Germany.
The other republicans are copying Trump. Hilary will follow the same policies as Trump. Those policies will also be the policies of almost the whole of Congress.

Get used to. We live next door to Nazi Germany.

There are enormous challenges to face - climate change, a dying U.S. economy and a dying U.S. Empire. the mass migration we have caused in the middle east, the bigger mass migration that's coming as a result of climate change, the severe strains within the U.S. based on growing poverty, racism, stunning rates of violence, the unpayable American deficit, t he massive government corruption, the power of the military industries, the prison population (far the biggest in the world),.... The U.S. is a falling empire.

And neither Hilary nor the Republicans are even talking about these.

Can corruption be seen or just overwritten by some myth? Is that subtle thought at it's darkest for those willing to go along with it ... corruption that is? So it was rot/wrote ... but unclear to the corrupt ... life is hairy ...

Nobody running for president is likely to mention a falling empire. It's just not a good selling point. I don't even think Sanders is using those words. If the above was your campaign speech you wouldn't get any votes.

Nope. The easy selling points are racism and fear and hatred. That's the curse of democracy. Before you can change the course of government, you have to change the way us humans think. Until then, it's impossible to get an honest government.
And if any institution should be working to change the way us humans think, it's the church.

I don't hear Hillary selling racism and fear and hatred. Not so noticeably as Trump.

In a global world, is there such a thing as a falling empire? The whole world is either falling or in a massive transition - I prefer to see it as the latter. Information moves so quickly and governments are so intertwined in business I don't know that we will see the kind of fall of empires like days of old - but we are definitely living in interesting times.

How better to bring down equity to a small bunch that to destroy the social empire where common people have equity ... thus the powerful remain standing alone with the booty ... a great boob if you ask me about diverse disordering of the Roman breast plate as it is held up against the war monger ... heis distracted ...

Hillary isn't selling racism and fear as blatantly as Trump does. But her policies are much the same. Obama doesn't run on racism and fear, either. But his policies are what Bush's were, and his targets are the same Muslims.

As for this being a Global world, it has been since the development of the sea-going sailing ship back in the 15th century. The fall of the British and French empires (which were very much like the American one) happened less than a life-time ago. And the American empire of today, despite its massive war spending, probably cannot win a major war against Russia or China. (It couldn't beat Vietnam or Afghanistan.)

Graeme,
Are you suggesting a whole change of our system of thought? Is this possible when institutionalized?

Yes, but it took awhile for information to cross those seas, and public had no access to it (you would not be privy to your current understanding of things, back then). Things are a little different now. We're left in the dark about a lot of goings on of the political elite but we have a bit more knowledge and different choices.

You are then talking about seas above and below or afore and past vs what Je sses ... or I Vu ?

Well, the bulk of the information we get is propaganda. Almost all news media in the world are dreadful. We really have very little sense of what it's like to live in other countries - or even in a different social class.
Not many know that the major backers of ISIS are Saudi Arabia and Turkey - with the collaboration of the U.S. How many people know what the war in Yemen is about? or that the U.S. is illegally supplying Saudi Arabia with cluster bombs for that war? How many Canadians know that Canada aircraft have attacked Syria - or that in doing so they have committed war crimes?
