Always strikes me as somewhat funny how impressed some North Americans can be by a plummy-sounding accent.

SOME North Americans. I watched him a bit when he was on CNN (who the eff thought he would be a good replacement for Larry King, anyhow?) and thought he was just obnoxious.

I don't think there's any illusion anymore. The vote is the only tool left to get Trump out of office.

I don't know if Alec Baldwin will actually "run" officially - but it's likely he will satirize the debates. He can do that still because of their constitution. A fascist would not want to allow him to mock their rulership. I wonder what Trump's position is?

Can we please please cease posting this stuff without commentary? I think it is unreasonable to expect people to watch many minutes of crap in order to hear an argument that usually only takes a line to summarize, rarely a sentence, and never a paragraph.

He now has an attorney general who appears to think it's his job to provide cover for the president, rather than tell the whole truth, in context - by releasing the full Mueller report to the American public.

This is what fascism looks like. If it was not, the public would get the whole report, in context. (Not just a few sentences that leave people guessing and conflicted.)

The redacted report (due to court proceedings and such) is expected shortly.

Barr's already been playing Trump defence. His job is to serve all Americans, not the most powerful American.

Agreed. But the attorney general being independent is as big a sham down there as it is up here. If they want it to be truly independent, then a change in the nomination process would be needed, possibly by having the incumbent nominate their successor, who is then confirmed. The problem becomes who nominates the first one in the chain.

One could see how fascism could take over, then.
