TRUMP - Some people think......... How do you feel?

Michael Lofgren, a former Republican congressional aide, has written extensively on the Deep State and describes it as “a hybrid entity of public and private institutions ruling the country according to consistent patterns in season and out, connected to, but only intermittently controlled by, the visible state whose leaders we choose.

Lofgren continues:

The Deep State does not consist of the entire government. It is a hybrid of national security and law enforcement agencies: the Department of Defense, the Department of State, the Department of Homeland Security, the Central Intelligence Agency and the Justice Department.

Lofgren notes the financial system is also under the influence of the Deep State and that certain areas of the judicial system, namely, the secretive Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court, are manipulated by the opaque, shadowy apparatus.

As Ron Paul observed:

Those powers are already there and I think those individuals who are behind the scenes who really find out what the policies are going to be, regardless of who’s in office, know exactly what we argue: that this place, our country, and our financial system and foreign policy is very precarious and something terrible is going to happen.

It is a distressing thing to think that no matter what you do [with] your vote, whether you vote or not, the Deep State is in charge and that is what we have to deal with.”

Behind the scenes presentation gives us a tapestry that needs to be looked behind in depth.

Would powers like us to look into their hidden records?

Do you have such doubts ... that go on and on and won;t go way?

And the Pentagon’s version of madness never ends. Think, for instance, of the planned three-decade $1.7 trillion “modernization” of the U.S. nuclear triad now underway, justified in the name of “overmatching” China and Russia, “near-peer” rivals in Pentagon-speak. No matter that America’s current triad of land-based, submarine-based, and air-deployed nukes already leave the arsenals of those two countries in the shade.

Reason doesn’t matter when the idea of a new cold war with those two former enemies couldn’t be more useful in justifying the through-the-ceiling $750 billion defense budget requested by President Trump for 2020. The Democrats have pushed back with a still-soaring budget of $733 billion that accepts without question the “baseline” minimum demanded by Pentagon officials, a level of spending Trump once called “crazy.” Talk about resistance being futile!

In other words, when it comes to spending taxpayer dollars, the Washington establishment of both parties has essentially been assimilated into the Pentagon collective. The national security state, that (unacknowledged) fourth branch of government, has in many ways become the most powerful of all, siphoning off more than 60%of federal discretionary spending, while failing to pass a single audit of how it uses such colossal sums.

One must control the populace somehow ... thus the satyrs about blowing the people away --- some β-ETa braes to it ... and old word for how the Gods have always wasted peoples ... isn't that a daimon-like conception? It goes on with continuation and ad continuum! Tis a vast expression as it blows toward eternal limits ... ruha, or ruach winds in the veils ... I see a rising flaminko !

You clearly don't understand how dangerous the 45 Administration's dismantling and undermining of democracy is. If it continues, it'll effect you negatively at some point too. Don't assume that they care about you or your concerns. They care about power, consolidating it with a few people who have no other aims but power, and that is it.

You are witnessing the systematic destruction of the OLD GUARD
Really? They’re mostly all pretty old still...and there’s, unfortunately, nothing new about atrocities like this...nor is the prioritizing greed-over-conscience behaviour new. It looks to me like the old guard hasn’t gone anywhere; it’s as bad as ever.

The new boss has proven to be the same as the old boss, and the American people, the permanent underclass in America, has allowed itself to be so distracted and divided that they have failed to notice the building blocks of tyranny being laid down right under their noses by the architects of the Deep State.

Frankly, it really doesn’t matter what you call the old/new boss—the Deep State, the Controllers, the masterminds, the shadow government, the police state, the surveillance state, the military industrial complex—so long as you understand that no matter who occupies the White House, it is a profit-driven, an unelected bureaucracy that is actually calling the shots.

In the interest of liberty and truth, here’s an A-to-Z primer to spell out the grim realities of life in the American Police State that no one is talking about anymore.

No he's proving himself to be much worse. He's the "old guard" on steroids.

You think so? I think he's a puppet put out there by our corporate masters to see exactly how much bulls**t we will put up with.
Not even the corporate masters are happy with him. He's being used by the far right fascist movement happening in the world - corporations could also be part of the manipulation - or, it's because unregulated free markets lead to the kind of power mongering we're seeing. Either way, his administration is so "old guard" it's reminiscent of 1930s Germany.

Guys like Ferdinand Porsche backed and aided Hitler so I don't think far right and corporate are mutually exclusive.

I bristle at the words, "liberty and truth" together, when put out by a US libertarian think tank.

High level libertarians want government de-regulation just so they can be "free" to be greedy. That ends up at the same place we're at now.

No, they aren't. I agree. It's something to be careful of. It's their own greed that will lead them to support a tyrant - I wouldn't say they consciously wanted him there to begin with. But they will go along to get along if there's profit in it.

Nazi Germany was capitalist. Fascist regimes are capitalism for the upper classes. IBM made the early "computers" that kept track of the concentration camp numbers.

And because fascism is capitalism for the upper classes, taken to its extreme - libertarians in the US have something to do with it. If libertarian politicians can convince people that nativism is a good idea, property rights are paramount, and dismantling the government is necessary - what is behind that agenda is the freedom for the powerful to do what they want, and be as greedy as they want, with no oversight. That's not freedom for the people. That's them abusing liberty for power and money. Get the Bible Belt on board, using some apocalyptic survivalist propaganda that benefits the NRA, ramp up nativist fears about "outsiders" and bingo bango, they have useful idiots to follow fascist aims, against their own best interest.

Libertarianism is inherent in US politics, even in neoliberalism - and it's part of the root problem. It's a hangover from the Wild West. It's not actually about freedom for the people. It doesn't lead there. It leads to chaos. And then to Marshall law to put it in order...at the expense of minorities. It's "Cowboys and 'Indians'" but even worse.
