TRUMP - Some people think......... How do you feel?

He's doing all kinds of things that affect the world that need to be reported on. If there was a time to ignore him it would've been the moment he announced his presidential bid. Unfortunately, even if the public did try to ignore him then, which they kind of did by treating his run as a joke and focusing on his clownishness, he still had the support of Republicans, and dark money and bad actors manipulating outcomes so people needed to pay attention to areas where they failed to pay attention. Just like a magic trick. Slight of hand.

The film itself, the incident, needs to be reported to come to anyone's attention. And I don't think there's anything wrong with the public response to discuss and question it.
Yeah well it's time Fox was forced to ask those hard questions......I'd love to see that....

That would be good. They have one commentator, Shep Smith - about the only Fox journalist I know of who criticizes Trump. He built a reputation for telling it like it is and Fox has kept him on. I have only seen clips and interviews because I don't have cable - but he doesn't just roll over for Trump.

I don't know how they can be "forced" to ask the hard questions though. Generally, they and whatever money is behind them, is behind Trump also.

Here is the USA, the election results are generally perceived as a victory for Trump and a great disappointment for the Dems, given expectations and given past midterm election results with a Clinton and Obama Democrat presidency. Both Dem. presidents lost 50-60 seats in the House and losses in the Senate during their midterm elections. It is widely accepted by both parties that the Kavanaugh fiasco was a decisive weapon against encumbent Dem senators in red states who voted against Kavanaugh's confirmation. I find it interesting that the main reason why Dems. regained control of the House as expected is the massive support of suburban educated women. There is an amazing American divide between men and women in their political allegiance, even a great divide within a significant number of marriages.

Unfortunately, we now face paralyzing gridlock. But there is an easier path for the Senate to appoint conservative judges, including Supreme Court Justices, when one of two of the elderly liberal Justices retire or pass away. And the forced resignation of Jeff Sessions as Attorney General probably puts the Mueller investigation on a short leash.

Did you notice CNN had front row seats? and were the first questions to be taken? Set up....
I don't think the one after Acosta was CNN. There was a woman from a radio syndicate of some kind up in the front whose question was shut down, Trump told her to sit down, also. I don't think she held her ground like Acosta though, if I recall. She tried to keep talking but then gave up and sat down. I can't remember her or her media outlet's name.

....April Ryan is the one who works for a radio network, as well as for CNN. She actually did interrupt the reporter Trump called on.

The reporter I am thinking of was a blond woman in a royal blue suit dress. I saw the clip yesterday but I can't remember who she was - Trump told her to sit down after calling on her - when he didn't like where her question was going - and she was not butting in.

It depends where you are and who you are talking to and what you are reading or watching I guess. Because Dems are also happy with how many women and minority voices, and younger representatives were elected to the House, and actual left progressives elected (rather than just neoliberal Clinton Dems - the neoliberal trend is beginning to be bucked) from what I am gathering. The left spectrum is better represented than it has been for awhile. Socialism has been a dirty word in the US for many years and that is changing - especially with young people. The median age of voters also went down in several places, and that is good - about time. They are disappointed with voter suppression in Georgia.

To get elected, most of the new Dem House winners expressed opposition to Nancy Pelosi's continued House leadership. But she is an intimidating fighter and, when the Dem. caucus meets soon to vote on her leadership, it will be interesting to see how many Dems. renege on their promise and support Pelosi. That move could be their undoing in the next election. Trump himself said the other day that he thinks Pelosi deserves to be reappointed as Dem House leader.

Who else is a possible contender for House leader?

It depends on how effective Pelosi is in opposing Trump's worst instincts; and protecting the Mueller investigation, and on Medicare for all. The latter being a platform it seems like a majority of Dems ran on. Young Dems are looking for radical changes to Medicare and hopefully she stridently works for their interests.

I agree she's not ideal. In my opinion she represents the same old same old...and I actually don't think she is very progressive. I think it'd be great to see someone like Ocasio-Cortez as house leader.

It is best if the world is deaf, silent and blind --- Monkey Rules! Thus no conflict and aggression and the demos will fall again!

Little people are good for tossing off the edge ... as means and mediums but not allowed to contemplate what's going on ... thus blind faith!

Sure, now lets see what the new members of the house are doing.....quite frankly I think we are starting to feed off the ridiculous Trump with our outbursts against him and secretly enjoy it.
We are Canadians, we are on the outskirts of the earthquake, the epicentre is in Washington. We have the advantage of perspective and sanity.....don't get sucked in.
Amen!

I'm glad I can mostly voluntarily mediate my intake of that sort of carnival ride; I'm glad not *every* convo I hear is aboot that...also glad to hear the alleged troops heading to that border r there 2 deal with potential USA militia and other vigilantes :3

Isn’t it amazing how great trump is at hangingthe channel. He uses the media so well. It is amazing and frustrating

It's been very damaging to my news intake. I'm just really over-sensitive to some voices, and his is one of them. That bombastic bellowing just sets my nerves on edge. So the problem is that as soon as I hear his voice, I turn the radio down, and by the time I remember to to turn it up again, I've missed all the rest of the news. The U.S. really are going to have to hire someone with a better voice.

I've found it particularly jarring when I've been listening to one of my fav comedic podcasts and they go into these 45 rants...

Someone should sell some brain rinse shampoo or something lol

Or meditation in a pill

I'm very glad that some people have seriously investigated to find out how 45 does what he does and have made that info freely available to the world...
