Trump's move with Putin was very much the right one. There is no reason to fear a Russia that has nowhere close to American wealth. And, indeed, the Russia of today is only about half the population of the Soviet Union. The hostility to Russia goes all the way back to 1918 when Canada, Britain and the U.S. interfered in a Russian civil war. This had nothing to do with saving the royal family (which was corrupt and incompetent and abusive.) The intervention came at the demand of major capitalists who feared communist ideas would spread here, where we, too, had an abusive capitalism.

We had no right to interfere in a civil war in 1918. We have no right to place Russia under sanctions now. What government and economic system other people want is none of our business.

There is no doubt that the U.S. military and the 'defence' industries will go wild over this. And I expect that they, with leading capitalists, will destroy it all.

Trump's idea was a sound one. I have to give him credit for that. He has handled it very badly from the start. But I have to give him some credit for trying what no other president has for the last century.

Meanwhile? Russia and China have made big gains in the middle east. Watch for Israel to slide over to friendlier terms with them.

what benefit would either of the Big 3(Rus, Chin and USA) have with unstability? It would b very bad. These peeps aren't stupid imho.

How and why did the Cohen tapes get leaked, by who?

Funny they got leaked in what has to be Trumos worst week to date.

Trump would rather people talk about his sexual affairs, than his Russian fawning. Only Melania likely cares about his sex life. And honestly, she must be well aware and not care

And unfortunately, some segments of the media will happily oblige. Sex plays better than diplomacy when it comes to ratings. Trump having an affair is not, and should not, be news. It's not like we didn't know going in that he screwed around. That's how his marriage to Ivana ended, for God's sake. He was screwing around with Marla, who became #2.
 
I quite agree with Mendalla.
John F. Kennedy was a notorious womanizer, perhaps even more than Trump. It's known that on trips, his bodyguards had orders to get women for him. But I never saw that in headlines. Nor did Clinton attract the coverage that Trump has.

Oh, yes. Hitler.William the Conqueror. Queen Victoria (who really did nothing at all). Queen Elizabeth, Prince Harry...History is full of nations that went crazy over one person. It's almost our normal condition.

Oh God, I think if I got an endorsement from any of the Kardashian/Jenner clan, I'd sink into a deep funk. If that's not a sign of hitting new lows, I don't know what is. :oops:
