The people screaming loudest about the media are themselves the most prolific liars and manipulators, projecting their own behaviour on other, "mainstream" media. And people are disseminating these lies, lending them the faux credibility of being found in more places.

Demonstrating lies no longer matters. We've seen that with Blackbelt here for years - he's the master of bringing us lies, having the lies totally annihilated, and moving on to the next lie without skipping a beat. And it's happening everywhere now. It doesn't help that so many people just don't want to offend anyone - not even liars.

We now speak in terms of what is "true for you", which is completely stupid. We have diluted what is "true" because everyone wants ownership of "truth". They should not have chosen such baseless things to claim as truth if they wanted that.
 
Sometimes we can say “what is true for you is not true for me”...such as “I like spinach.” But when it comes to information that we need to know, alternative facts are not an option. In order to interpret the meaning or purpose or intention of an event...whether for better, worse, or inconsequential, we need the real backstory. Not a bunch of made up crap and lies. Those who are discrediting the media, nowadays, may actually be putting journalists in danger, as well as journalism itself, in danger. Journalists are being threatened all over the world for trying to report the news. And while the best we’ve got makes mistakes, it is still the best we’ve got.

It's fair to argue about whether or not that is a just punishment, but she was a U.S. soldier, not a journalist. If actual journalists reporting for actual news organizations were jailed or harmed trying to report it that is a separate issue. Dumping a bunch of unfiltered, without context, classified info into the public domain is not responsible "journalism" either.

Good demonstration of the political polarization in the US as a Canuck visits Bill Maher show

I note how quickly they go back to saying "45 is baaad" and not addressing the incisive question poised

i am guessing not because they are stupid (i also don't bh default assume bad faith), but because of the polarization (and TDS)

how to cure that without violence and compelled action/thots?

You have to keep challenging their kooky beliefs. And let them be the ones that fly off the handle. Then later when they play it back in their heads, at first they will think-I lost because I flew off the handle. But eventually, they will figure out, no, I lost because I hold a stupid position that I never actually thought about before.

And in a few more days - #walkaway!

Sounds to me like Jordan Peterson is playing dumb, there. He knows full well why people are upset with Trump, and that he is not a normal Republican president...and he's coy and polite on Maher's show, while actually playing to Trumpees. He voraciously (yet ever so politely at times...depending on the audience) goes after "the left" for supposedly limiting his freedoms but fails to criticize how Trump is limiting freedoms on a large scale. He never criticizes the right with as much gusto. He's not fooling me.

Talk about red pills. PG, your sources completely lack nuance. The whole point of the Matrix is that it is at least four-dimensional. I started watching that, and then the fellow started ranting about clock discrepancies and the immigrant experience on the ground. And I lost interest because of the lack of nuance. Western civilization has been largely responsible for this insane volume of world-wide refugees, 68 million being the current estimate. Between war mongering by the U.S., raping of resources and ecological stability by World Big Ag, and human-caused climate change, a bizarre number of people are forced to be on the move. When you have huge movements of traumatized people, you're going to have problems. We caused it, so it is our responsibility to deal humanely with these people, whose situation is almost entirely no fault of their own, unless you consider "wishes children to live, not die" a "bad" motive.

Maintain everything in a state of naivete until population collapse from lack of common sense ... common is like a dark time to the elite ... as if darkness is a threat to them but not commoners ... as they as disposable!

And you were not interested enough to try.
Wouldn't want to have your concept of reality challenged.
So you take the blue pill. Fine. But people around you are waking up every day.
