TRUMP - Some people think......... How do you feel?

If he unilaterally pulls out of NAFTA, yes and it will probably be negative. If he is willing to renegotiate, then it drops to a perhaps and we might even be able to wrangle something positive out of it. So it all comes down to how he really handles NAFTA (versus the rhetoric he used in the campaign).

That said, it once again proves that we need to be diversifying our trade. CETA was supposed to help with that but it's stalled and, with the Brits going hard Brexit, we will have to do a separate deal with them now (and that's already being discussed, in fact, according to one article I read). China is another that Trudeau is pursuing but that is fraught with perils of its own. TPP might go on without the US, but the only major trading partner in that for us is Japan if the US is, indeed, out.
Do you think if he pulls out of NAFTA it will influence the real estate market into a downturn? Some say our biggest economic influence is now our real estate sales.

Actually, that may be the one sector immune to Trumpitis, though a swell in unemployment and companies move south could dampen the market in some areas.

Gov. Rick Perry has been nominated by Donald Trump for Energy Secretary.

Before you let that sink in too far, let me quote from the NY Times. This is too good to be missed:

Mr. Perry, who once called for the elimination of the Energy Department, will begin the confirmation process Thursday with a hearing before the Senate Energy Committee. If approved by the Senate, he will take over from a secretary, Ernest J. Moniz, who was chairman of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology physics department and directed the linear accelerator at M.I.T.’s Laboratory for Nuclear Science. Before Mr. Moniz, the job belonged to Steven Chu, a physicist who won a Nobel Prize.

For Mr. Moniz, the future of nuclear science has been a lifelong obsession; he spent his early years working at the Stanford Linear Accelerator Center. Mr. Perry studied animal husbandry and led cheers at Texas A&M University.

It just gets scarier.

I kind of get the impression the US is working its way into insignificance. They will end up growing and producing their own stuff (which is not a bad thing), not being involved in conflicts , as nobody else wants to pay for their service and all the unemployed military personel can work on "The Wall". With a leadership that has no clue, maybe they just end up becoming a country like Gambia.

Now is nous clear science quite cloudy as those that detect minute particles of stuff driving the universe ... God particles as ethereal ... almost absent as an abstract thought ... then Nous is mind in old Greek and an intimate character in Franc linguistics of aulde ... English Gothic?

Bill Maher said something about these people all being appointed to cabinet posts Trump wants to get rid of. ....It serves that purpose while keeping somebody symbolically in there while they dismantle it. It's Orwellian ... For real.

"All the things that I do are bent on forcing this [vaccine] debate out into the open---because once the science is in the open, the CDC's position is so fragile, it's an edifice of fraud, fraud stacked upon fraud, so high and so wobbly, that even a slight breeze of public scrutiny will topple it." - Robert Kennedy, Jr.

President Trump has appointed him to head up a task force investigating vaccine safety.

He's one of the "elite" though. But you'd believe him since it's a cause you're interested in?

What are you going to say when he comes back and tells us that vaccines are safe?

I agree with this statement that he has made:

"Vaccine industry money has neutralized virtually all of the checks and balances that once stood between a rapacious pharmaceutical industry and our children. With the re- search, regulatory, and policymaking agencies captured, the courts closed to the public, the lawyers disarmed, the politicians on retainer and the media subverted, there is no one left to stand between a greedy industry and vulnerable children, except parents. Now Big Pharma’s game plan is to remove parental informed consent rights from that equation and force vaccine hesitant parents to inject their children with potentially risky vaccines that the Supreme Court has called “unavoidably unsafe.”

Ending exemptions is premature until we have a functioning regulatory agency and a transparent process. The best way to insure full vaccine coverage is for the vaccine program to win back public trust by ending its corrupt financial ties with a profit-making industry."

It is Mandatory Vaccination that I have the biggest problem with so if anything can be done to reverse/prevent that ... I am for it.

It doesn't sound unreasonable to me. I am not "anti-vax". I got my flu shot this year and it has worked as far as I can tell. I am pro-health and if there are vaccines making people more sick than the good they're doing, that should be well known. That is not entirely inconceivable that money is a motivator. If not, and they're more beneficial than harmful, that should be known too. The big money lobbies need to get out of the way.

It's just interesting because, monk, if there is anyone who is of the American political elite class you so mistrust, it would be Robert Kennedy Jr. - the most famous political family modern U.S. History.

Well, the trump team
says they didn't appoint him. Who knows anymore?

(The federalist is a right wing site - for those who may want to fact check its fact checking. It came up in a search in this topic)

Robert Kennedy Jr. is also an environmentalist and radio host? (I really don't follow what he does). I'm guessing he's not going to be getting to head any research commission for anything.

Research involves uncovering stuff ... is that appropriate in a state set on the idea that it is best if the pagans don't know?

That's the story ... sometimes referred to as from Cretans', or people from the Isle of Crete ... home of Minos ... the golden BS or just Copperplate? It just lies there betting you will not test it for what it means ... that's the "word" ... imp recessive!

A myth written across the face of the earth ... and still unseen ... catastrophic ... mixed with some Catty hats in pink and/or black as abstract cover ...
