True.

But they do work across the aisle when it comes to supporting U.S. Imperialism

The stated goal of the democratic party, in concert with the republican party, is to maintain the military empire and it uses false narratives and lies to maintain the manufactured enemy list required to justify it's service to the military industrial complex, major corporations and banks, and the oligarchy/plutocracy controlling the U.S. government.

War is Peace, Slavery is Freedom, Murder is Humanitarianism.
The part about subservience to the military industrial complex is too true. Also to multinational corporations. One difference in between Canada and the US is that we do have more than two parties in government. The unfortunate part is the two large parties are both corporate parties.

Contrary to Canadians’ self-image, Canadian foreign policy has not been chiefly about peace, democracy, sustainable development and peacekeeping. Rather, Canada’s foreign policy has deepened inequality, supported US government aggression, and exported our economy of extraction, with dire consequences for people and the planet.

Our governments sell arms to Saudi Arabia, help to overthrow democratically elected leaders, support oppressive states, vote against resolutions supporting human rights at the United Nations General Assembly, and fail perennially to meet our climate commitments.

The giving the lo' life a chance to subtly continue on ... lesser bugs in life are potential as well!

Recall such partisan force is popular with the tyranny of the well heeled and powerful ... some images may pop into the abstract ... a darker place to be sure ... metaphorically some say it is Psyche! Mind ... you are allowed to deny it ... and thus thought and the process goes ...

Diminishing returns are exponential ... dippy?

Why go back that far? Afghanistan, despite the myth it was a UN-sanctioned NATO operation, was very much an American hatchet job. And what was accomplished? The Taliban are still battling the government, women are still treated as second class citizens though maybe a bit better than under the Taliban, and local warlords still wield power over parts of the country. A classic American "regime change", in other words. Nothing really changed other than putting a pro-American regime in place.

Libya and Yugoslavia are other engagements where I did not like the nature of our engagement. Liberal and Conservative governments ignored what Indonesia was doing in East Timor for at least 20 years because of the investments of Canadian companies in Indonesia -- I worked a few summers for an oil-field supply company that had a branch operation in Indonesia. Our role in the IMF and World Bank often supports destructive financial policies in many countries while helping business. I have trouble with most or all of our Free Trade agreements which are too friendly to large multinational companies. NAFTA put thousands of Mexican farmers out of business as cheap (subsidized) American corn flooded the Mexican market.

Pontifex already showed us a video of that. Big deal. About 1000 ppl in or near Newport Beach are most likely voting for Trump. That doesn't mean the rest of the country or even California supports him.

Those videos are to make Trumpsters feel better. They're pep rally videos.

I read today that the polls are pretty much identical to what they were the last election, with Biden ahead as Hilary Clinton was. Same thing could happen. I'm betting on misogyny to keep the numbers up. Although there were plenty of other criticisms for Hilary, she was reviled by many voters just because she was a woman. Those who wouldn't vote for a woman, might vote for a white dude who isn't Trump. (transferred from another thread)
