So true. And yet all the fuss about public spaces. Some hospitals are starting to have mixed gender rooms ... let's catch up with our thinking!
Yes, that does seem true in my experience. I once had to end a social experiment to see how long it would take my ex to take it upon himself to clean the bathroom. Pretty gross. (And perhaps a bit passive aggressive on my part - but I was fed up). If I asked and he did it, it was usually just a quick job, incomplete.

On the other hand it is likely not true of every male - just in my experience they have not been raised to pay attention to bathroom hygiene as much as women.

Hey, there should be some compensation for being the one who moves into the sacrificial position in any life theatening situation.

OTOH, most women spend more time in the bathroom than do men largely because of social conditioning around all the things they are supposed to get done there. (Make-up, nail crap, hair fussing, skin rejuvenation, etc.)

My experience is that the bathroom cleaning job seems to stick to one particular gender.
I quoted the wrong post before. This is the one I meant to quote.

Yes @BetteTheRed i agree. Although I'm pretty conscientious about cleaning up after myself. I have used "men's rooms" when the women's wasn't available, and for whatever reason they tend not to be as clean. Others may disagree but that's been my observation. Who knows why.

If given the choice I'd prefer the women's bathroom or a clean gender neutral bathroom if it is single stall - one person at a time. If there is toilet paper and paper towel all over the place and grime and who knows what on the floor and counters - and toilet seats up and graffiti and broken door locks and soap dispensers (what is with that and why are people so messy and destructive in the bathroom?) I would rather hold it until I get home as long as possible! My experience has been that men's rooms are more likely in rough shape. Only in an "emergency" would I use it. And I'm not too keen on using a multi person unisex bathroom with open urinals. I would if I had to, but if privacy and cleanliness could be made a priority I'm fine with whatever. I'm not "afraid" of sharing with men so much as uncomfortable for those reasons. I wouldn't likely use open public showers with other women either. I'm just not comfortable with that. Of course my home bathroom is for anyone here who needs to use it, and there's a lock on the door. .

Starbucks here has clean gender neutral bathrooms - big, for disability access, too. Single person ones. If I'm out in public and need to use one, I might look for one of those, knowing Starbucks has good bathrooms. The best. :)

My bathroom is open for any with need to "þ" and if you check you Latin signs ... the one that isn't clean and clear in there is really a thorn ... and may they be po'dupe on ... about crapper orders!

A smart person would have checked on the info posted in post #1035, before posting in #1034. These posts were 4 minutes apart. Then a smart person would have shut the fukc up and not posted either. Some people would call the deliberate "not-smart-ness" of posts 1034 and 1035 trolling. Others might say, "meh, what an a$$hole".

We've been over this before. The American College of Pediatricians is a group formed by religious wingnuts who went apeshiat over child adoption by gay couples. They are a "hate group", as defined by the Southern Poverty Law Center.

The American Academy of Pediatrics is the well respected group of pediatricians who do actual science.

And some people say hate doesn't exist ... under the see no, hear no, speak nun iv ET ... thus one doesn't know and respect what they are getting into! If this is part of the heaven of mind would some Volant's be in there flying about? Could be think and cloudy space! Malevolent, or maleficent up to no good in getting around to ID (as primal mistake)?

In the beginning ID was dark and formless ... sort of like a developing con science ... something the original belief would hate to accept as natural happening ... like social communication? Heard the wild dog packs talking behind the house a few minutes ago ... in strange tongues! Kirk made it so we wouldn't know and feel better by that stunning void ... a gasp of mind!

There's been a huge blowup that's being discussed by trans folks I follow on Twitter. African writer Chimimanda Ngozi Adichie is getting serious grief over remarks suggesting that transwomen enjoy "male privilege" and are therefore to be treated differently from ciswomen. A lot of transwomen who've suffered persecution question the whole idea that they enjoy privilege relative to white ciswomen. Of course, race is getting dragged into the whole thing as well, since there's also a big issue around feminism being dominated by "white privilege".
