Not wasting my time arguing with CNN parrots. You all assume he is guilty. That has not been proven.

What has happened to all other women by other men has nothing to do with this.

He’s not on trial for rape. He’s being tested for character...and his performance is that of someone upset because he thinks he’s entitled to the powerful job. It reflects poorly on him.

The committee has voted to recommend confirmation (as i expected) but also expressed desire for a delay before the full Senate votes so the FBI has time to at least start an investigation. However, the decision as the timing of the vote is in Mitch McConnell's hands, since the committee doesn't control the agenda.

  • The committee voted 11 to 10 to advance the nomination after senator Jeff Flake, a Republican, asked for the vote to be delayed one week so the FBI could investigate the accusations made against Kavanaugh.
  • Flake’s proposal was informal because the judiciary committee doesn’t set the vote, senate majority leader Mitch McConnell is responsible for that. The implication is that Flake will vote no if the investigation doesn’t happen and the vote advances early next week as was initially planned.

I do not assume he is guilty ... he demonstrated that he is guilty ... guilty of not being able to postpone his own gratification ... he is so intent on getting his confirmation expediently ... that he is willing to throw away a perfect chance to demonstrate his ability to see justice pursued for Ford and women like her. Women that have been traumatized to the degree that they are willing to relive that trauma in public in hopes that someone somewhere will acknowledge their need for 'confirmation' of their own. How would it hurt for a man that proposes that he is the best man for the job of being an impartial judge ... to demonstrate his mandate to investigate Ford's allegations further. If he is so sure that he is innocent why not take the time to clarify his innocence. Perhaps there could be resolution for Ford as well. She says she is 100% sure it was him ... a lot of people find her credible ... what would it hurt to investigate further. He is not the one footing the bill - not many people accused falsely have the means that he has at his disposal to clear their own name. What is the rush to business as usual ?

I do understand the difficulty for men accused. How do you defend. How to refute.

I also understand the culture of the times. As chansen said, there were guys, who walked in water and got what they wanted. They were the privileged ones

None of us know if he did this. We only know what we see

It was actually his other comments and attitude that were odd for someone wanting to be a judge on the supreme court

Always recall the stronger powers are better ... thus irony in the point of the spear!

Such things can kill the bearer ...

Will the Kavanaugh decision demon strate heavy handedness for the people or against ... in favour of the controlling factor ... once known as avarice ... the power of mongering gods?

The little people look on from a far position ... some say near nothing ... and other's say nothing imitates the psyche ... it just isn;t ...

I didn’t know anything about the Hill case, but besides that the time might not have been ripe yet, the obvious difference between the two is that Ms Hill was black. Despite being a professional, I think still with todays prejudice, that makes it even harder to be believed.

Oh, I think we all have to agree with Pontiflex on this. I mean, it's not every kid who can afford a fling with Stormy Daniels. So you have to make do with what's there. Anyway, they probably enjoyed it.

You should all listen to Pontiflex. He sees and understands many , many things that we don't. In fact, I'm thinking of introducing him to a gay friend who rapes men. Then we'll all see that this sort of thing doesn't matter. It's fun for all.

It will be interesting to see what the "scope" of FBI investigation is, and how they may deal with 'unwilling' witnesses such as Mark Judge (and maybe Kavanaugh).

I read an article on new york times re the hazing at the school, and what was acceptable/normal blowing off steam versus what was not acceptable.
Low grades - not acceptable.
Ratting on someone - not acceptable.

Also read that 1000 women from another school signed a note about the attitute of the boys school towards the girls schools, and that there were 3 prep schools for females and three for males and that there was a hierarchy.

In other words, it would be ok to mistreat women from one school, wehreas you streat the women from the other school with kid gloves.

Aren't kid gloves from little goats?
