In fact, big money might be better served at this point if he quietly withdraws his name and lets someone less controversial take the seat.

See, this is all reminding me of Trump. Three years ago, we were all pondering, "couldn't the GOP come up with something, well....better?".

I didn't actually see it. Some things I don't feel the need to see for myself. Tis a great joy in not having cable. I can never unexpectedly have to watch anything I don't want to.

Is Kavanaugh a War Criminal?
September 25, 2018 “Rare Call for a Halt on Kavanaugh Nomination.”
  • “Contrary to the mantra that the Democrats on the Senate Judiciary Committee have it in for Kavanaugh, they’ve largely let him off the hook on a number of critical issues, instead favoring theatrics.
  • “While there’s substantial attention being paid to the serious charges of sexual assault by Kavanaugh, there’s been very little note that he is a putative war criminal. Specifically, recently released documents show that while Kavanaugh worked for the George W. Bush administration, one of the people he attempted to put on the judiciary was John Yoo, who authored many of the justifications for torture that came out of the Bush administration.
  • “I’ve had very serious problems with others placed on the Supreme Court, but I’ve never thought of them as putative war criminals. And while other parts of Kavanaugh’s professional record are unseemly, including his lying under oath, his work for Ken Starr and for Bush’s election during the Florida standoff in 2000, this stands out even in such a record.
  • “And while some of the current members of the Supreme Court have been members of the Federalist Society, none have been of this ilk of members like John Yoo and Bush Attorney General/White House Counsel Alberto Gonzalez — as Kavanaugh, who worked for Gonzalez at the White House.
  • The U.S. Senate must not place a putative war criminal on the U.S. Supreme Court.”

Confidential Emails Reveal Kavanaugh Wanted to Make Author of Bush-era Torture Memo a Judge
Brett Kavanaugh Can’t Be Trusted. We Know Because We Worked as Counsel to Senators When He Was in the Bush White House
We Know Brett Kavanaugh Has Lied Already
Brett Kavanaugh Urged Graphic Questions in Clinton Inquiry.”

I Wrote Some of the Stolen Memos That Brett Kavanaugh Lied to the Senate About” Graves writes:
  • “He lied. Under oath. And he did so repeatedly.
  • “Significantly, he did so even though a few years earlier he had helped spearhead the impeachment of President Bill Clinton for perjury in a private civil case. Back then Kavanaugh took lying under oath so seriously that he was determined to do everything he could to help remove a president from office.
  • “Now we know that he procured his own confirmation to the federal bench by committing the same offense. And he did so not in a private case but in the midst of public hearings for a position of trust, for a lifetime appointment to the federal judiciary.”
Seems Ford is not the only one calling attention to Kavanaugh's history of lying under oath ... unfortunate that the only way to get the public to pay attention is to turn it into a voyeuristic 'sex scandal'

Hannah Arendt: Lying in Politics: Hannah Arendt on Deception, Self-Deception, and the Psychology of Defactualization

"The deceivers started with self-deception.
The self-deceived deceiver loses all contact with not only his audience,
but also the real world, which still will catch up with him,
because he can remove his mind from it but not his body." Hannah Arendt
In what is possibly the finest parenthetical paragraph ever written, and one of particularly cautionary splendor today, Arendt adds:
  • (Oddly enough, the only person likely to be an ideal victim of complete manipulation is the President of the United States. Because of the immensity of his job, he must surround himself with advisers … who “exercise their power chiefly by filtering the information that reaches the President and by interpreting the outside world for him.”
  • The President, one is tempted to argue, allegedly the most powerful man of the most powerful country, is the only person in this country whose range of choices can be predetermined.
  • This, of course, can happen only if the executive branch has cut itself off from contact with the legislative powers of Congress; it is the logical outcome in our system of government when the Senate is being deprived of, or is reluctant to exercise, its powers to participate and advise in the conduct of foreign affairs.
  • One of the Senate’s functions, as we now know, is to shield the decision-making process against the transient moods and trends of society at large — in this case, the antics of our consumer society and the public-relations managers who cater to it.)

I fear the U.S. is too crazy to go that way. I think we'll see a push in that direction - and I hope it works. but I'm not optimistic. The other consideration is that any such move would cost the Democrats millions lost in election 'gifts'.

So far those individual seats are being won via grassroots campaigning using small donations. There were a few remarkable wins, unseating career politicians who people would assume were sure to win again. It’s the Bernie Sanders effect. Or, enlightened after-effect. I hope it continues well.

Qui word ... is crazy ... officially only determined by judges ... self examining powers gone awry?

One must get beyond the close reflection ... thus ultimate perversions ... as noted earlier ultimate once meant distance! Thus schism ... resembling ectoplasm!

Wow, that video is an hour long

Watched 12 min of it.

Good propoganda
It is good propaganda.

And congratulations making it through 12 minutes. I think that demonstrates you have an open mind. You gave it a chance.

It’s designed to sway voters for the midterms. If it can hold a person’s attention for the full hour, they likely will vote republican.

They don’t understand it was made by Russian bots.
