The UCC bought the possibility of maintaining itself at the price of concessions ... it seems one of the concessions that they are debating is removing the cornerstone of Jesus Christ at it's foundation ... I doubt the holy spirit is invested in the outcome of who or who does not get paid to stand at the pulpit of this particular building that the UCC has purchased title to.

Thus dark potentialities as warned by Machiavelli! The authorities will go against that ... as it disrupts front line ... me-first?

Would the spirit include the rare concept of soul as a non-existent reasoning organ ... and in a word thus inorganic? Thus as silicosis ... hard to accept as we become fossilized ... Ammonitic?

The concessions made by the United Church have seemingly centred around not being complete a**holes for their faith. Many other Christians have criticized them for their unwillingness to be a**holes and pointed to the denomination's lack of a**holes as an indication they are going about this "church" thing all wrong.

By bootstrap draw can the hind be drawn up to the ear level ... thus we are forced to listen to legacy parts ...

It is said that physically monis talks where as metaphysically thoughts drift in mystical windy conditions out-there! Sure; The O'logo ... logos in plurality as the dark things gather unseen ...

Creating vast mystical myths ... beyond the physical by a long shot as mental OBI's! Soft shoe'g it ... Dan'ς? Takes considerable abstract ... essense ll projection?

I am sure the UCC as a religious political organization is functioning as well as any other 'social club' in the land. Gretta Vosper has decided that there is no need for a Christ in her progressive 'Christ-ian' a-theology and wants to get paid by the UCC till death do them part - and this becomes grounds for a lawsuit - at the expense of her 'flock n friends'. She is sounding more and more like a narcissist to me ... follow me my 'flock' ... have faith ... I know a better way ... the law of man is what we need to empower us with the freedom 'to do good works' ... in the name of Gretta Vosper ... so let it be said ... so let it be won!

I have never read or heard of her saying such things. What you're describing sounds like a cult, in the same way that Christianity is a cult.

Then there is och cult ... "och" being as a word of exclamation ... like; "Omega'did I say that?"

Word is almost holy as it appears as gaps in a white stretch ... in the lens of mind ... it may be reciprocal ... allowing for light spots in the dark shadow of the soul!

The the Gospel of John does say that the word was God, etc. and so on ... perhaps a mire sign ...

The och-man is like a sharp divide in the celtic concern .. and yet in Celt the word is a sharp stoned ... leaving some folks divided ... pure schism!

The same way that Identity Politics is a cult ....

So she began to identify as a nontheist, meaning she didn’t believe in God or gods.

Later she began identifying as an atheist, which hasn’t gone over well with the United Church of Canada.

Vosper has been involved in a heresy trial with the denomination since 2016.

“It’s the most liberal denomination on the planet, or so I thought,” Vosper said. “I believe it’s taking a turn toward the more conservative at this point in time, because I think it thinks it will be able to reach more conservative people if it goes in that direction.”

Within that denomination, Vosper uses different terminology than most. At West Hill United Church, it’s not called church; it’s a gathering. They don’t worship or sing hymns; they sing songs.

And they read all sorts of different literature like “Buffy the Vampire Slayer,” Charles Dickens and “Doctor Who.”

“We don’t privilege the Bible,” Vosper said. “We read from it periodically, but not very often.”

She said one of the most powerful moments during her church gatherings is when they sing.

They sing many familiar hymnal tunes, but the words are completely rewritten.

“We have visitors every week, and when they’re given back a song they haven’t been able to sing for years because of the theology, and they’re able to sing it fully because they don’t object to any of the words, they’re often reduced to tears,” Vosper said. “It’s a very emotional moment for people.”

She hopes to share everything she has come to learn over the years during her lecture ...

DIY living
She found her tribe
I heartily reccommend peeps 2 rewrite or even create their own Bibble (an old thread waaay back in WC:Original Recipie) etc.

I grok y don't like her
And that u don't like atheists and anti theists
Thatz ok
Gretta is the future of UCoC
Notwithatanding Jordan Peterson's need to return to something we cannot return to
I don't not like her because of her anti-theism ... I am not liking her because she is a hypocrite. Her 'legal' battle is what I am opposed to. She is entitled to her opinion ... she can rewrite any book that she likes ... what I don't get is why she insists on being paid by an institution that she disagrees with - to advance her opinions over theirs.

It is good to affiliate with something ... if only to give contrast some con-text ... steered script... even if in a bum manner so as to make your dark buddy within ask the question WTF did you do that for ...

In the sequence some answers could come into being ... or are not being and thus the not knowing is allowed to continue ... just for the relief of curiosity! Curiosity must be supported too ...

Well, as you said in another thread, it seems that you want to be paid a universal income from a gouvernment that you don’t accept as an authority- seems similar to me.

Right ... whether I believe in their right to authority or not ... what happens if I don't comply with their 'governing' of my personal service to their debt ... now that they have my #. Wait for it ... go live somewhere else?

So radical ... like one could react with something and fuse ... like wax & a wick 'd thing... generating a flame? Poesie?

Then there was those easy things where one could get a drink during depression ... dark flappers if you couldn't see them ... putting A'm'n into a flap ...

Coyote ugly ... like Trump and his dogs ... something over nothing ... for all Trump knows ... something stinks unconscious to heh!

The concessions made by the United Church - follow the money - they won't dismiss Gretta if she is a good revenue source - disavow Jesus - might be best for the bottom line.

Gretta is the future of all state sponsored corporations ... not just the one that calls itself the UCC.

You think this is about money?!?!?
