The Tribulation will happen before this earth is destroyed -----and the scripture says when the last Gentile is saved the tribulation will begin ---
This seems extremely odd to me. Why would God wait until the world is in better shape to destroy it?

In the Gospels, Jesus keeps calling the people to repent because the kingdom of God is at hand. Does this mean He wanted to hasten the end of the world?

I think it's more likely he wanted the people to be prepared for their Final Judgment. He was giving them a heads up, so to speak.

Final judgement....I guess for those who believe Jesus died for our sins still think there's more punishment coming because of our sins?

If Jesus descended into Hell for three days, is it possible that the human Jesus of Nazareth needed a period of cleansing, reflection and remorse?

I don't see why not.

No ----Not in my view -----Jesus had His resurrected glorified body when he went to Sheol --and I believe He went there to preach Grace to the Old Testaments Saints so they could receive Him and be saved so He could take them to Heaven with Him -----No Sin can enter heaven -----that is Scriptural ---Jesus is the only way to Heaven in Scripture and dead Saints of Old needed to receive Jesus -----No one comes to the Father except THROUGH Jesus ------so they had to be saved to get into Heaven ----

The Mystery of Resurrection

50 Now I say this, believers, that flesh and blood cannot inherit nor be part of the kingdom of God; nor does the perishable (mortal) inherit the imperishable (immortal).

51 Listen very carefully, I tell you a mystery [a secret truth decreed by God and previously hidden, but now revealed]; we will not all sleep [in death], but we will all be [completely] changed [wondrously transformed],

52 in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at [the sound of] the last trumpet call. For a trumpet will sound, and the dead [who believed in Christ] will be raised imperishable, and we will be [completely] changed [wondrously transformed].

53 For this perishable [part of us] must put on the imperishable [nature], and this mortal [part of us that is capable of dying] must put on immortality [which is freedom from death].

54 And when this perishable puts on the imperishable, and this mortal puts on immortality, then the Scripture will be fulfilled that says, “Death is swallowed up in victory (vanquished forever

Final judgement....I guess for those who believe Jesus died for our sins still think there's more punishment coming because of our sins?
It might not be punishment. It might be more along the lines of reviewing the choices we made And considering the impact on ourselves and others.

Ah. A missionary trip to Sheol then

Ah. This explains the dead coming out of their graves in Matthew.

The gospel writer must have been anticipating the end of the age in 7 years then.

We Christians often say Jesus was sinless and perfect.

I don't know about that. I like the idea of God holding Him accountable for three days. At the very least I think God might have had a few questions

This seems extremely odd to me. Why would God wait until the world is in better shape to destroy it?

I don't think your understand it ----it could be me confusing you ------

God wants every single person now in this world as we know it to come to the realization that they need a Saviour to be save and inherit the promise to reside into heaven ------the Jews have rejected Jesus and will keep rejecting Jesus for now -----The Gentiles are the ones who are adhering to the preaching of the New Testament ---Not the Jews at this time ----God wants all saved who want to be saved and only God knows the heart of the Gentiles who are being drawn to receive Jesus in this world now -----when God comes to the knowledge that the Gentiles who are left will not receive His Son to be saved ---then God will start putting His Original Plan in action ------

What is His plan -----to keep His Covenant with the Jewish Nation ---
The Jews are marked and He bring them through the Tribulation unharmed and the 144,00 Jews preach the Gospel to all the world with the 2 witnesses ---who I believe are Moses and Elijah ---as they were the ones who appeared with Jesus on the Mountain during His Transfiguration who represent the law and the Prophets -----
and --to rid this world of the any remaining wickedness and hopefully save some more souls in the process by bring His wrath upon this earth ------some people need a big awakening to get His Message -----without Christ you are doomed ------and He is going to bring Horror to this planet --like you have never seen ---and still many will not Come to receive His Son through this 7 years of Horror --

His Second Coming comes at the end of the 7 year tribulation -----where He separates the sheep from the Goats ----

I wonder how many souls have been saved from what is Happening on this earth right now ----People loosing everything they have worked for all their lives --Gone in an instance --this is happening much more frequently and more intense -----People need to start getting a grip on not relying on their STUFF to keep them safe and warm ----Look at the bombs destroying people and their lives ----the floods that are washing away Homes -----what is it that people don't get -------and this is just peanuts compared to what is coming -----

We Christians often say Jesus was sinless and perfect.

I don't know about that
Then you don't believe the scriptures ---your making up your own story -----which you can certainly do

Hebrews 4:15 ESV

For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin.

2 Corinthians 5:21 ESV

For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.

1 John 3:5 ESV

You know that he appeared in order to take away sins, and in him there is no sin.

Did Jesus ever declare himself to be sinless? Didn't we get this idea because the Passover lamb had to be without blemish?

Sinless or not, God could have asked Him a few questions like these ones:

What were you thinking when you created the ruckus in the temple? Were you looking for trouble?

What was that about your followers leaving their families? Did you forget the commandment to honour your mother and father?

Why did you declare you did not come to bring peace but a sword?

And who did you think was going to cook the dinner when you were visiting Mary and Martha?

Good job though, my son, extending your ministry to the Syrophoenician woman and the Samaritan woman at the well.

Who Says ---don't you think the Symbols mean something and describe what is happening in the end times -----

Just because you believe that it is not to be taken literally --does not mean that it shouldn't be ----better read Daniel and Ezekiel ----

This is why the Old Testament is a Foreshadowing of the New Testament ----a lot of the end times is Prophesied in the Old Testament ---and some symbols are brought to light in the Old Testament

The first Horseman likely refers to the Antichrist. He is the false imitator of the true Christ, who is also associated with a white horse (Revelation 19:11–16). At the beginning of the tribulation, the Antichrist will be given authority (“a crown”), and he will wage war (“a bow”), conquering all who oppose him. This description agrees with Daniel’s vision of the “little horn” that rises to power and is bent on conquest: “This horn was waging war against the holy people and defeating them” (Daniel 7:21; cf. Revelation 13:7).

When the Lamb opens the second seal, the second living creature says, “Come!” (Revelation 6:3). John looks and dutifully records what he sees: “Then another horse came out, a fiery red one. Its rider was given power to take peace from the earth and to make men slay each other. To him was given a large sword” (Revelation 6:4). The second Horseman refers to terrible warfare that will break out in the end times. Those wars will include the Antichrist’s rise to power, which requires the downfall of three other kings (Daniel 7:8), and possibly the Battle of Gog and Magog (Ezekiel 38—39).

The Lamb then opens the third seal, and the third living creature invites John to “Come!” (Revelation 6:5). The third Horseman then appears: “There before me was a black horse! Its rider was holding a pair of scales in his hand. Then I heard what sounded like a voice among the four living creatures, saying, ‘A quart of wheat for a day’s wages, and three quarts of barley for a day’s wages, and do not damage the oil and the wine!’” (Revelation 6:5–6). The third Horseman of the Apocalypse portrays a great famine that will take place. Food is scarce, and prices are inflated beyond reason. The command to spare the oil and the wine seems to signify that the luxuries (oil and wine) will still be available during the famine, but the staples will not.

When the Lamb breaks open the fourth seal, the fourth living creature says, “Come!” (Revelation 6:7). John says, “I looked, and there before me was a pale horse! Its rider was named Death, and Hades was following close behind him. They were given power over a fourth of the earth to kill by sword, famine and plague, and by the wild beasts of the earth” (Revelation 6:8). The fourth Horseman of the Apocalypse is symbolic of death and devastation. The horse’s pale color (in the original language, it’s literally “pale green” or “yellowish green”) denotes sickliness and biliousness. The fourth Horseman of the Apocalypse will bring further warfare and terrible famines along with awful plagues, diseases, and attacks by wild animals. A fourth of the world’s population will die.

What is most amazing, or perhaps terrifying, is that the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse are just precursors of even worse judgments that come later in the tribulation (Revelation chapters 8—9 and 16). For all the horror brought by the Four Horsemen, there is much more to come.

Scripture will always answer Scripture -----

The Importance of Symbolism in Revelation - David Jeremiah Sermons 2024

This is the way some modern scholars view Revelation:

More Christian apologetics ... mostly for things we don't know ... because in the first palce we knew nothing attoll ... thus isolationism and a chance to learn different perspectives and refuse to share them! No cross threads allowed ... sheer madness ... clearly so ... as the urchins roll on ...

Prickly topics for the edifice ...

So I have the answer to a question I posed earlier about Satan at the end of the 1000 years (the Messianic Age)

Satan will be set free and then defeated. This is according to Revelation. Then comes destruction and the final judgment.

The problem I am having right now is Jesus didn't seem to know anything about this thousand year period. I have been looking at the Olivet Discourse in the synoptics.

What am I missing? Can someone help?

If God is pure love (a given) can we imagine that know-how (intellect) is diabolical, or something that can cause damage to open wishes?

Then in secular terms much is closed up ... or down if you declare it depressing! Good Grief ... therein another curve ...

Maybe it is an idea, not a fact? Maybe it is a concept that is more developed in the centuries since REvelation was written than in Scripture itself?

I don't know really but would it have something to do with the start and the end of the Roman Empire?

Revelation 20 relates that an angel from heaven tied up Satan and locked him in the abyss for 1000 years. But then Satan will be released for a brief period of time and ultimately defeated.

The account is very difficult to interpret.
