There is no mention in the Bible about Mary riding a donkey.
You know I'd never noticed that? Every nativity movie shows Mary on a donkey, but I'd never noticed that it's not in scripture.

However, Mary was heavily pregnant, and not able to walk the whole way. It stands to reason that she didn't walk.
And we know Joseph didn't drive her in a Honda Civic......
And since they were simple people of limited means, it stands to reason that it wasn't an Arabian thoroughbred.....

So mostly it was a donkey.

It is hard to say how far she could have walked. I knew women who played volleyball until the day before they gave birth.

I would guess, though, that these heavily pregnant women weren't playing for 12 hours a day, at least 3 days in a row.
I believe it would have been at least a 3 days' walk from Nazareth to Bethlehem.

And I do not want to derail this thread into arguing with men and women as to how much physical exertion heavily pregnant
women are capable of doing (when there are soooo many deciding factors.)

I would just say that if Mary could not walk that trek from Nazareth to Bethlehem, then it most likely would have been a donkey
she rode (and not an Arabian thoroughbred.)
