Spare the gour aye detailing ... yes ... rite!

What's left ... the sticky trickster of avocation of hiding the soul of god ... thus god 'soul becomes pure hummer or humiliation to those that with no appreciation for the entire song ... it goes on interminably ... Br Ham's Lull a'bi now ... as wend!

Such is the darkness in the heart of man ... a gore hole? Bush misse dite ... the franc intent!

Stuff you are not supposed to know and why you loose it when going there ...

Still lots of snow here. Also lots of slush and slightly above zero temps. I'm still not convinced spring is coming here. I need more evidence.

Lots and lots of snow here still, but the pot holes are growing.

Ugh. Tell me about it. This variable winter has been hell on the roads around here. Almost need an ATV on some streets. Hate to think what this will do to our roads budget and hence my taxes. OTOH, they appear to finally be widening Wharncliffe between Western Road and Oxford Street, which has been an horrific bottleneck for years so we will be getting at least some value for our property taxes this year. Holdup was having to widen a railway underpass, but that's been happening this winter.

Just north of my home, between my house and my church, about 2 km, is a stream, which wends its way, above ground and below, towards Little Lake, a large pond really, only about 8' deep in the centre, at the northern edge of the city. It's no problem where it's above ground. Where it's a problem is where it runs under a major intersection. That bit of road, particularly this time of year, no matter how many times they dig it up, fix stuff, put it back together, is like a corduroy road made out of 4' wide trees; it's very wavy... I drove by it yesterday (several times, of course, having been to the church on three independent occasions yesterday) and there were service trucks and digging machines all over the place. Yet again. We need some Romans. This creek, which is not even named, could do with an aqueduct or two.

No flowers or green yet. There's only an inch or two of snow, except for a few persistent snowbanks. There's buds on trees, though, and I need to get out and prune grape vines stat. According to my maple tree friend who has a small sugar operation, the sap had been running well until slowed by this recent cold-ish snap.

Yesterday was a glorious sunny and just above freezing day. Typically it was a day I had promised to spend volunteering at an inside job. From where I was I could see the outside but couldn't go there! Another plus was shortly after getting home I received a wonderful pot of spring bulbs - a totally unexpected gift from my man who rarely gives surprise gifts. The last one to me was on our 25th anniversary (this year will be our 50th).

Birds are cheeping outside - sparrows, chickadees, redpolls, nuthatches. The sun is shining and the temperature threatening to cause some more melting. My big decision will be boot spikes or no.

I am sitting at Five Oaks, interviewing for a new staff member. I am sitting in a room with a view outside. Most of the snow has melted. There are children here for day camp, the bushes are not budding out yet, but, daffodils which had started during the winter melt seem to be restarting. The birds are busy, cardinal (male & female) were sitting on a bush.
There is mud tracked in from guests.

It is a good day.

Have been seeing robins here too.

Heard and saw a few cardinals this week. I think they might stick around all winter but this week they have been more vocal.

Didn't much wildlife, avian dinosaurs or otherwise, on my walk this afternoon. A few humans and their canines was about it. It was a beautiful spring-ish day, though. Wind was a bit chilly, but it was sunny and warm enough for being out and about.

Lo! another sign:
walking past some flowers and stopping to intentionally look at them
noticing a lone honeybee
enjoying the sight
her legs laden with pollen
her tiger stripes pulsing with breathing
then lo! magic:
i see another sister
and another and another
appearing out of nowhere
such is life...
ty, nature, again
