Pink Houses was used by some Republicans campaign but Mellencamp made them stop. It was also used by NOM who oppose same sex marriage...he made them stop using it too.
He supports the Democrats and played this song for Obama's inaugural celebration.
The line in the chorus "Ain't that America". was meant to be satirical.

Imagine satire in music ... is that witty or what ... au Qui? Needless to say some will say Yukky and turn other soff ... Sophia? Meltdown ...

Will she get through it and still carry water ... that's 'ur ... Skye ... separate layer ... then IOsphere or "M" on the ball ... looking intuit?

Blue Sky Syndrome ... it passed over ... as heavens and a bit clouded ... the au Pall thing ... again the opal in different orders ... that's the word creeping ...

At one time that one (red-headed) out of Blue Rock Montana ... he lost something along the way ... don't bother him! He even shot the fair haired one ... volcanic mood!

It's encouraging to hear someone say out loud how religious leaders are complicit in war. And how every nation thinks it was chosen by god.

It has to be said. It has to be repeated.

Nothing can go wrong, nothing can ... wong ... !!!

Three dotters with the dash applied ... and thus the get out of here urge ... ellipses? El lapse of thought and here we are in an emotional state of fall out ... vere poly misunderstood ... right on the edge? Wong ... with a wok ... that's an eastern pan for light friars ... rice? Word play for simple ... behind that something deeper ... pios or pith'd ...

What’s that thing in the middle of his sweater? It looks like a metal button with a symbol on it. Luce…what do you see in there?

Everybody has a button ... some know better about how and when to push it as it takes considerable observation!

Did you hear the commentary about Trump being blind to a health issue in the states ... they say in blindness he doesn't see any paradox involved ... and thus the problem is denied as a mire denial! Simple black-out that many people of avarice overlook!

He’s been nodding off at meetings. I know the feeling, to be fair - it’s almost happened to me and I was a lot younger than he is and overworked, running on a sleep deficit.

It would be tiring to be him especially, and be POTUS at 79. He can’t keep up the same diabolical energy level anymore. He doesn’t have to worry about not having good doctors though. But he’s threatening cutting off things like veterans benefits, meddling with Affordable Care (I only read an headline about something regarding Obamacare) and not doing any good for the health of the people. Which specific issue? There are so many.

Its the off button ... he believes all things should get out of his path ... tis an old sayun, maybe a fire rule ... in Semitic form that's ruel ... when fire takes over as winner in a burn the earth program! Recall ... winners are poor losers they can't be both as someone on the medium ... character wrote-in? In another image ... Rhoden ... thus that gnawing ...

He doesn’t care about anything but his own ego. Too many saw that coming years ago but somehow didn’t stop it.

Back to music…I’m still listening to the same music on repeat lately.

Same old sad song cause that's what we are restricted to!

If you sing something different you are out of here ... or abnormal! Thus change is difficult ... thus I sing a song of sadness and like some with the economy ... it is simply a denial function ... then some do not understand that they sing sadly, or even badly! In the end function we have difficulty devising good from bad and thus lean towards bad as it is individually good and winning form ... while the surrounding go down to defeat as putin the system ...

Thus Jim Reeves with He'll Have to Go ... and so it went ... Libra! Intelligence an wisdom are set free ... on the loose? They were once known a psyche and Sophia ... two ancient spirits of classic design logic ... requires considerable stewing in time to grasp ... play it again Sam ...

Did you know that once Samuel was found to be diabolical ... he could be called out of the dark by Eli ... the light one ... set up in a blaze! Few grasp for the adequate light and therefore Gamma ... rising in serendipity! Well sometimes chi do ... with considerable connection of s-chi we get Schi Zas ...

Rearranged letter m'n ... for MU sin over ... a sin disturbing the dead silence ... ground zero is a vere small spot ... however some hear it ... speck a harmony?

Great new live performance video from Pacifica. New twist: They have electric strings backing them, a violin and a cello. New drummer, too, I think. I'm sure they've usually had a guy behind the kit.
A couple more from the same set. This was recorded at a studio in Florida called Realm26 and is being co-posted by the band and the studio. Both are from their latest album.

Like a lot of bands from non-English speaking countries, Pacifica do most of their vocals in English. After all, the largest market for pop and rock music in the West (Asian pop and rock are a bit of a different beast) is the US with the UK pretty high up, too. And they started out because of being fans of English native bands like The Strokes. So it was nice to see this track come out with the duo singing in their native tongue.

Johanna Kurkela has quite a career going right now. In Auri, she gets to work with her husband Tuomas Holopainen, a wonderful Finnish keyboardist and songwriter. And in Eye of Melian, she get to work with with Dutch keyboardist and songwriter Martijn Westerholt, also wonderful in both roles. Interestingly, both men come from the world of symphonic metal but these bands are more symphonic folk or something like that. They leave the metal behind, at least. Best of all, at least for fans of Johanna, the two bands appeared on the same bill at a festival this year. This is the latest single from Eye of Melian's second album, coming in February. It's a lush, beautiful tune and Johanna's vocals are perfect for it.

I have just been introduced to the character of Kate Bush. Sounds good!

Oh wow, late to the party, eh. I've been a Kate fan since c. 1985 (the release of her album Hounds of Love which included the now famous Running Up That Hill). Had heard her before that but that's the album that got me on board. Downside of being a Kate fan is that she's basically now retired. Keeps talking about releasing more material but she's independently wealthy (invested her money wisely in her early years, or so I've heard) so works for the art rather than the money and has no pressure to release. Last full album of new material was 50 Words For Snow in 2011 and at this point, it is starting to look like that will be her last album. But you never know with her. That one was kind of unexpected, too.

I would normally be posting about these two in the metal thread but this performance strips out the thundering beats and roaring guitars in favour of a simple piano accompaniment. Clementine Delauney and Michele Guaitoli normally sing with Visions of Atlantis, one of my favourite symphonic metal bands. Here, though, they are in a church in Wacken, Germany (home to one of the world's biggest summer metal festivals but this is more recent as evidenced by the Christmas tree) and Michele is playing the piano. The song is from the band's last album, though it's quite different here. Really highlight's Clem's gorgeous voice and the contrast between her and Michele vocally that underlies so much of their work together.

The band has some gorgeous power ballads featuring Clem so hopefully some of those come out from this performance, too. They would lend themselves quite naturally to this acoustic format.

Another song from the same set by the Visions of Atlantis vocalists. "Ashes to the Sea" is a lovely ballad that takes perfectly to the piano-voice arrangement.
