So, what are you listening to these days?

It sounds like one particular song though - the sung lyrics and notes sounds like somebody. And the groove, too. I'm thinking 70s?

The twang does sound sort of sound like Blue Rodeo.

I hear a bit of "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" in the guitar solo. But when he starts into, "It's too late--" I'm expecting different words and I can vaguely recall someone else from a past era singing that bit of the tune.

Anybody watching the doctored videos posted by responsible executioners of US Greatness? Chief Executive Officer of the national (secular) disinterests!

Such is radical nationalism in case it was something we didn't wish to know ... and thus it wasn't ... as a histrionic ...

Forgive me, but I heard this song in a store, and everytime I hear it I like it. It gets me moving. It reminds me of Rage against the Machine but with more frivolous lyrics. I am not a fan of Kid Rock's political preferences I just like this song.

Not listening to it yet, but for the next time I exercise in front of the TV (possibly tonight since it's been shower-y here):

It's Buffy Sainte-Marie's set from the 2019 CBC Music festival.

Nice. I'm always desperate for something to listen to from 3:30-7... Rich Terfry and his set list never do much for me.

When you hear the energy that just pours out of "You got to run", it's easy to forget that Buffy is now 78 years old. It's an incredible song from an incredible musician and composer who never seems to slow down.

It's amazing how youthful she is! I saw her at Koerner Hall a few years back and she's as friendly as she is talented.

By the way, Bob Marley was explaining the history of war, and lamenting it, not desiring it, in case people don’t get it... Around that same time, someone said, “War is over if want it”. We could commit to a just world today, now...and if everyone did we’d have it. When there’s no justice there’s no peace. Oppressed groups of people simply are not at peace with being oppressed by tyranny and never have been because it’s miserable. The powerful can’t declare injustice “just” then call it a day - the world has never worked that way. The oppressed don’t want conflict, they want equality.
