I think our Corrupt negative Nature reads into the Text of God's word what we want to read into it ---instead of understanding the Spiritual Truth that God's word projects ----which is His Agape for His Chosen Nation and His Promise to honor His Covenant with them in the end ---------
While allowing all people ---Jews and Gentiles not just Favoring the One Nation to be able to choose to have eternal life or reject it but allowing all the opportunity----

The Bible is not pouring out anti semitism as some think --they see anti semitism because of their ignorance and lack of right understanding of God and His Character and what the scriptures are really portraying --just my view on this -----

We started to talk about this upthread but let's take another look at it. In my view, the Acts of the Apostles and the Gospel of John are quite similar in this regard.

Neither book is necessarily anti-Semitic as written but can certainly be used that way. The texts reflect supersessionism or the idea that Christianity replaces God's covenant with the Jewish people.

This is Paul's thinking for sure. We saw it in yesterday's reading. Paul was teaching in the synagogue (18:8-9). Some were stubborn and refused to believe.

It can be a fine line.

Paul clearly expected to use the "infrastructure" of the synagogue to develop the early church. And he used the Hebrew Scriptures as backing for his ideas.

I will pause before posting the next reading. It is a tale of iterant Jewish exorcists who are beaten up by a man with an evil spirit. It's an odd little story which I have never encountered until now.

God could have softened all the hearts of the Jewish Nation and they would have all been saved --after Jesus died and was resurrected and the New Covenant Preached ----the Gentiles would have been left out and doomed to eternal death ----and there are 2 deaths for unbelievers Folks ----physical and eternal -----so if you were not born a Jew ----you were DOOMED TO HELL in your end --

then we would have people saying God's word is anti Gentilism

Would it have meant the end of second temple Judaism? No evolution to rabbinic Judaism? No present day Judaism?

Present day Christian Zionists support the state of Israel. I don't think the Israelis are terribly keen to have this support. Or so I have read in Jewish spaces.

There is great debates going on about when the temple will be rebuilt -----some say it has to be built before the 7 year tribulation ---some say it will be built in the middle of the tribulation --

I think if some research is done and know the scriptures to look up ---you will find the temple is rebuilt in the Middle of the 7 year tribulation --Daniel and Ezekiel both give many clues and insight to the end times ---a lot of The imagery in Revelations is unlocked in these scriptures and If I remember rightly --

Is there a design? Has anyone applied for a building permit? Who is the primary consultant?

You can't just say something is going to be built. Somebody has to pay for the design. Somebody has to submit those drawings as part of the permit application. But if you apply during the tribulation, who is working in the local building department to review and approve the application? You have to have a plan in place to hammer this through the city before everyone is running around with their hands in the air, or else you risk a Stop Work Order and Jesus never triumphs because somebody dropped the ball at the permit stage.

You can't just expect something like a temple will build itself. It needs architects and engineers. It needs predominantly (these days) Mexican labour. I haven't seen anyone produce so much as a sketch on the back of a napkin. Don't tell me about some temple until you get a proper permit set together.

That's fascinating. Day one is going to be mostly safety meetings. I was going to ask about weather delays but I recall you believe He controls all that. Concrete takes 30 days just to reach design strength - does he control the cure rate of concrete as well?

Paul did use the synagogue as they were already an established community and Paul could gather people there to introduce Jesus' New Covenant --Paul was familiar with this setting and he knew and had an understanding of the Hebrew Scriptures which helped him to bring people to this new Faith of Christ ----he had a ready made audience to preach to so this space provided the infrastructure for this New Covenant that was beginning to exist ----This was a place where Paul could reach out to both Jews and Gentiles ---

There was an eventual split from the synagogue as not all people were receptive to this New Covenant being preached ---- but the synagogue did serve as the infrastructure for Jesus's New Covenant -----
