Which nobody has actually claimed. Theology is, the study of God and God's word. I engage it through much prayer and by studying the works of those who have gone before me.
Which is the whole point I have been making. My time in seminary differs only from my time in a congregation in that the level of knowledge available to me at Seminary and through the university is far deeper than what I could hope to find in an average congregation. Particularly an academic understanding. Pastorally, time in congregation surpasses the strictly academic experience. My strength as a student was being able to use both experiences to my advantage and not mine alone.
The wisdom I have acquired academically and pastorally makes me a greater resource to God's church and the people within it.
Am I better? Nope. I have never claimed that.
Am I more knowledgeable? Depends on whom I am being compared to. Not that it is a competition. All of God's saints are supposed to be working together. Even when there is disagreement as to how to move forward.
