Seriously God, you chose them??????

Neither do your beliefs, but that doesn't stop you.
I am working within the teachings of a Christian framework that informs me, so the answers I seek sometimes require back up from scripture and other sources. I realize you do not abide within that framework, which is fine.

unsafe says and posted scripture
This is the scripture quoted in post # 353 -----

2 Timothy 2:15 (NKJV)
15 Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

unsafe says
Here is the thing -----if we can rightly divide the word of truth ----we can wrongly divide the word of truth ------and there are many who wrongly divide the word of truth and lead their church down the path of destruction ---- as we see in 2 Peter below ----

2 Peter 3:14-16 (NIV)
The Day of the Lord

14 So then, dear friends, since you are looking forward to this, make every effort to be found spotless, blameless and at peace with him. 15 Bear in mind that our Lord’s patience means salvation, just as our dear brother Paul also wrote you with the wisdom that God gave him. 16 He writes the same way in all his letters, speaking in them of these matters. His letters contain some things that are hard to understand, which ignorant and unstable people distort,as they do the other Scriptures, to their own destruction.

Human reasoning can never understand the spiritual nature of scripture and will wrongly divide scripture and destruction is the end result --according to scripture ------

He ascended on high. Do you believe he has already returned to Earth?
I am asking if God and Jesus are now one or if there are two Gods in heaven? One we have to use as mediator (Jesus) and the other one who listens to what Jesus has to say. Is Jesus one with God in heaven again or two? And where is the scripture that supports your answer?

There is only one God. Therefore, there cannot be two Gods in Heaven. God the Father, and God the Son are two different persons in God. They are not different Gods. I might remember to look for Scripture for you when I get home. Right now, I'm enjoying supper out.

Hi,

An author may write a book. That author has no control over how the book will be read or represented.

The Spirit of God is like the wind. This wind animates much. It affects much. It controls nothing.

What we see in any interpretation of the text is the interpreter. Sad when that interpreter assumes control over the interpreted text; claiming to be the arbiter of the text's meaning and implication.

Here is a text by which I was inspired and encouraged: "Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman who needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth."

--Hi GeoFee--which is The GOD it you said was the one you follow? You really don't believe God is in charge of all things? We humans have the right to chose good or evil. But even that God uses in His plan. The animals live by Instinct . But GOD can even control that. Remember the Lions den they would not eat Gods man". But next morning 'Those who told the king to put him there became Breakfast.

I would suggest that Buddhism is non-theistic rather than a-theistic, in that its basic principles and worldview don't require a god. I don't believe, however, that Buddhism necessarily rejects the existence of a god or gods or God.
I'm not sure what the difference between non-theistic and a-theistic is, they both seem to say the same thing. But I agree that Buddhism doesn't reject the existence of gods or God, it's more a matter of outsiders and critics not understanding Buddhism. I think their biggest tenet is that nothing stays the same in the Universe. God, therefore, being eternal by definition, cannot exist in a ever changing landscape.

If you believe in the Trinity, why did you ask me if Jesus and God are two Gods?
You are being a little antagonistic here Jae. People sometimes simply ask questions to hear somebody else's point of view.

Atheism says that there is no god. Belief in God is not an option for an atheist, since atheism rejects the very existence of God. Non-theism essentially says that belief in God isn't necessary for this belief system, but individuals within the belief system can choose to believe in God.

I very much appreciate the stories about Danial. A fine example of fidelity in the face of power. As to a literal understanding of the story, I feel sad for any taking this path.

God inspires and informs me. God does not control me. Or any other.
