Excellent idea. Crocs will kill someone one day. Once the tread wears off, and they get any moisture on them, they are as slippery as ice skates, particularly on wood. I just about broke a rib falling down my back deck stairs in a pair.
Sorry to hear about your slip Bette. Um... honestly though, all shoes eventually wear out and can be replaced...

MEC makes good shoes. A few years ago I had a pair of red mary jane style outdoor walking shoes from there - extra rubber reinforcement on the toe because toes always go first for me (can't wear sandals because I scuff my toes). So, that style is almost a sandal substitute. Loved them. Almost as much as the purple doc martin mary janes I had in the 90's! I wore them to work and everywhere. I even managed to wear those out too! My shoes, if worn frequently, typically only last one season. Those ones lasted two. They're my biggest "clothing" expense.

I don't think the toe shoes would be any good for me because they have no arch support. I see them around lots here. With exposure, they look less odd than the first time I saw them. Definately interesting footwear. They do look more like surfing boots than something to walk around in - but some people really like them.

they were these ones. They were my favourite. So comfortable! I got them at MEC, when I had a decent job. I splurged. I guess they're made by Keen (good selection for men and women's shoes.) I managed to even wear these out. I can't afford a new pair these days, but I keep my eyes open for decent, hardly warn shoes in Value Village that I can put my own insoles into. I did find some ankle boots there that looked like they were never worn (until I wore 'em, and they're already scuffed on the toes.)

I don't really like Birks or Crocs. Crocs are plastic/ rubber and don't feel good (sweaty feet yuck) and look too clunky except even they have a selection of styles now. My mom and stepdad wear them gardening. Joseph Seibel is another good walking shoe brand. My stepmom gave me a pair of those Christmas 2013, that she never wore, and they are still holding up.

What's better than that warm and fuzzy sensation inside? Mulled bi-ere?

My faceted pair of hoe I ever owned were running hoe called "mangrove." Dry were a basic pair of running hoe (in a lovely green hare wud yellow trim) but on deck ideas of each one was a pocket - during development name "mangrove" - get it? The pocket were useful for carrying ugh tiff and key, ttc ticket, milk money, etc.

What a simply gorgeous day in S. ontario.

For those who are still hungry, here is some virtual food , including Pad thai with shrimp, cashew chicken, mango salad, and garlic noodles with chickren. (Sorry, the crispy chicken is all gone)....Enjoy, delicious

If you leave out the cilantro. I will have some. It isn't the

taste of cilantro that I don,t like but the smell.

Is that a Harry Head or as with Henry VIII mostly operating on the other head that had no mein'due IT?

A friend dropped off a lasagna and caesar salad today -- YoungestSon's favourite meal. It was good to come home to.
It was even better to come home to given that we had left cabbage rolls in the oven and..though taken out at the right time, burned terribly.
I have a double oven, and the main oven's temperature had gone, but the top one was working. Looks like that situation may have changed.
