Room For All

Welcome to Wondercafe2!

A community where we discuss, share, and have some fun together. Join today and become a part of it!

I have never been involved in a book club, although my Tuesday Night group has tackled a couple of books over the years. Mrs. A and I participated in an on-line discussion on a book on non-violence that was very thought-provoking.

I will read almost anything in order to participate in a discussion about it. I can't read crap, like pop star ghost written stuff like trump does or harlequin romances; I'm hugely put off by soft porn and genre formula stuff. Other than that, bring it on. Maybe we should have a book club here? We tried it before, and I even bought the e-book.

Went thrift shopping today with the big guy; it is Tuesday, senior's day at Village des Valeurs. I want a new winter dress or two. Long-ish warm dropped waist. No luck. Big guy found a new cardigan and a bunch of wooden spoons for me, who keeps on losing them or burning them.

Good morning! Book club discussions continue, and new topics will arise today, I'm sure. We come to the Coffee Cart with our thoughts, hopes, and events in tow. We discuss, support, deepen relationships, and care as we gather here. Oh, yes, there is coffee and tea, and baked goodies. Looks like squares and butter tarts. Coffee, as always, is fresh, tea water boiling, baked goods are fresh from the oven.
Come in when you can, share in the conversations, have a mug or a cup, and enjoy some of the goodies. All is ready, all are welcome.

A student minister started a book club at my former church and it is still going strong. That student graduated from Emmanuel College, became ordained, had a second career in ministry and is now retired! The book club has carried on for almost twenty years.

Did you hear the report of the book club in California that took a great number of years to read Finnegan's Wake ... a very catty group if you accept what they learned from the experience ...

It is said there were some real turn arounds as if in a circular apocalyptic sense of compression about how time and space repeats itself ... dx/dt's?

Di Vine at IO's ... split Z's! Z bean a' nend ... everything goes on from there unconscious and thus unknowing unless you learning the exposure of being dipped here ... stellar warping ... enigma, allowing several shades according to spectroscopy! Observable science! Excitable light ....

That club left a mark ... powers would like to censure it ... due to fear of Black Ca+'s ... after that an IO'ns ... tan yons ... mazes!

I've had four busy days in a row. They've been good busy. I'm skipping out council meeting this morning. I'm region rep and we have another rep so I'm not the most important person. I just can't face leaving home before noon again so will have a lazy morning. We have crafters in the lounge at the park this afternoon. I'll probably stroll down. It's a relaxing afternoon.

I came across this excellent article. I'm posting it here for your reading pleasure.

Myths and Misconceptions About Metastatic Breast Cancer

Much of this pertains to all dis ease and tense moments when encountering stress and difficult times ... lumps of reality!

There are those that disbelieve the existence of psyche-like phenomenon as they derogate what they believe to be all in your head ... mad because they can't get at it! Sacred and sealed much of it as we disposed of it as thought ... metaphorically!

Call it something different and it goes away? That's denial as in nihilism ... who got rid of what? It comes back as great empathy ... a quality often beyond people of false virtue ... just lying there doing nothing! Nothing is often like that as it is hardly done ... few take it seriously thus it becomes immaterial in essence ... a poltergeist? These are diminished by greater forces ... creating an alternate route ... the way out? Thus the psyche part drifts off ... to a greater position ... objective!

Good morning! Book clubs, busy days and lazy mornings, good articles, nihilism, and all that will arise in our minds today comes with us to the Coffee Cart for conversation and support, and community. The coffee is fresh brewed, tea water near to boiling, and the muffins are warm from the oven. Let us gather in peace, and share in the conversations; may our drinks be hot and our friendships warm. All is ready, all are welcome. Come join in the fun!

Will join in the fun of a Coconut Vanilla Latte and a Lemon Cranberry Muffin

I haven't seen a vehicle go by since mid afternoon. The highways leaving town are all listed as Travel Not Recommended.. Posts have shown up on FB saying "STAY HOME, I saw four cars. a semi and an ambulance in the ditch in ten miles or so". It is still snowing with outbreaks of wind. Two grandsons and a grand in law all travel 30 minutes on a highway to work. Hoping they stayed safe - at least I haven't heard otherwise.

This morning I made some Irish Soda bread for the first time. Not bad at all.

It's not bad here; had I been enthusiastic, I would have taken the half inch of snow off the front porch and put a bit more snow melt in front of the door here.

Got a batch of pain relieving salve finished yesterday. So fulfilled some Xmas promises.

Woke up to minus 13 degrees, the heat pump which is 14 yrs old, was working hard. Its supposed to get up to plus 7 over the weekend and then down to double digits again. Haven’t had enough snow for snowshoeing yet.

Good morning! Weather continues to happen, closing roads in some areas, or being a minor annoyance in others. In this area, we have a few nice days for today and tomorrow, then the Vortex moves in for a few days early next week. Stay warm and safe, all! We gather round the Coffee Cart today, to continue chat about the weather, or coming inauguration, or anything else that comes to mind. The coffee is fresh brewed, and tea water is near boiling. The doughnuts are warm from the bakery. Drop in when you have a chance, enjoy the refreshments, and share in the conversations. All is ready, all are welcome. Come and get it!

Lots of ice; bad for hips but not thick enough for folks testing for going under ...

Snowed much of yesterday and more overnight. Yup - travel not recommended, but some folks wanted to go home after work. One of them was our daughter who helped six other people get unstuck on the highway. Then she turned onto the country road and made it to within a mile of home before getting totally stuck. She walked the last mile through some major drifts and knows she won't be at work in town today!
It seems several people spent the night in their vehicle waiting for help. This is why Saskatchewan people are always advised to carry emergency items in the vehicle. Arctic strength clothing, warm sleeping bags or similar, shovels, food, and water, 1st aid kit, flashlights, some tin can candles and a clean tin can (to make tea or coffee).

Stay warm Kay. I remember those trips and I think we still have some "just in case" car items.

I just had bloodwork today. It is a regular monthly thing. I got a new (to the clinic anyway) tech. I think she did my blood draw last time. She's very kind. I told her I get blood drawn from my hand before she got her supplies in order so she could get the right needle. I mentioned that I get the draw from the hand several times as she spoke of taking it from the elbow. Finally I gave in. When she started I said I hadn't had blood drawn from the elbow for a long time because of lymph nodes. She finally heard me and did the draw from my hand. Good grief. Listen to the customer! I'd even mentioned I get this bloodwork monthly. Then I remembered that they hadn't asked me when I last ate so I told her this was a fasting bloodwork. I got questioned on that too. By this time my patience is truly wearing thing. Low blood sugar and all that. While I was waiting for them to sort it out with an experienced person, another customer with no boundaries started chatting as if we were buddies. I'm not your buddy mister. (I didn't actually say that) Why do these challenges come when you're fasting????

Now I'm off to get my injections then to mail my secret Santa gift (finally) then home to put my nose in a good book.

It gets much harder to be cheerful when fasting. I once heard someone deal with this by growling "I haven't eaten or had my morning coffee. Leave me alone."

As for medical staff with flannel ears - be upfront and ask them if they heard what you said! Though I once recited my symptoms to a doctor who looked totally unengaged. Turned out he didn't miss a thing.
