Room For All

Welcome to Wondercafe2!

So we've had an hour wait for the ferry. They had to replace a crew member for the trip that was supposed to leave Vancouver at 5:15 this morning. Apparently left just after 6 and should be arriving here momentarily. I've spent the time reading the book "Strong Men" by Ruth Ben-Ghiat. It is very validating. Perceptions I've had about US politics in particular have sadly been accurate.

When we were in Tobermory, our hotel room overlooked the lanes where people lined up to board the Chicheemaun. We didn't go over to Manitoulin ourselves and really only got one good look at the old boat. It was coming in when we were returning from Flowerpot Island.

Good morning! For ferries delayed, but trips resumed, we remember and give thanks. For all who travel we we pray they may be safe in going and coming. As we gather in spirit round the Coffee Cart, let us remember those on the road, those in the Mid East going through terrifying times, and all other people and situations on our minds. All is ready, come join in.

Another tongue in cheek realization about the other cheek?

At times like these I always ponder Lenard Cohen's ode in the form of: "You Wanted It Darker"!

Leave off the cream in honor of the dregs ... so many drink it black! That's ruagh ... another old word!

Good morning. It's another early morning. We'll get to Edmonton today if all goes as planned. We crossed two mountain summits yesterday with no problem. It was a lovely autumn day with mostly sunshine and blue skies. We had a bit of rain along the way and the temperature on the summits was 9 degrees. Got to love being so far from freezing, especially on the Coq. I have a knitting project and got a lot done on it. We stopped in Kamloops and had a nice visit with friends. Dog got to have a great romp with her best friend. Dog found the day horribly boring up to that point. :)

Today will take us past Mount Robson and through Jasper National Park. It's a lovely part of the country.

I had hoped that we wouldn't hear any more about our local Town Council 'scandal'. Not so - there is our little town on CBC news again. It will be so nice to move on from this and get our community back on track. Realistically though this will be a challenge for whoever wins the election for Mayor. None of the candidates seem to have administrative experience. Quite frankly- I will vote but with trepidation.

I must be getting old ... have no urge to bodily wander ... but the psyche does ... generating that severe mind-body desocialization defining crabs!

Hermiotosis? Soon ... toes up so I can observe Skye ... a scene from R William's in that "Fisherman's" movie!

Yesterday I learned that the old minister that married us changed his burial wishes from cremation to full burial so the worms and microbes could have a feast ... then he did have a doctor in entymology and mycology and thus connections to myco horts ...

This was a few years ago so must be complete now so we could say: "there that's Dunn" ... be layed rubbin ... the master of myths say it is a sandwich ... Reubin ... Smoked Meat et al ... tis gone and you cannot ignore the evidence ... because of the lack of whatever you conceived ... must'a been a dream ...

Out of body item ... as the body parts are degrading ... predictable in prescient mode? Scentient is not that well received by some circles and clics ...

Only a myth may get there as portion of the sophisticated Psyche ... unfathomable to mortal vues ... a nitch 've debate?

Been there, done that, between one mayor resigning due to criminal charges (not related to being mayor, but to his time in the federal cabinet) and another having an extramarital affair with another councillor. Definitely not how you like to see your community on the national news. Hope your "scandal" is at least less serious than that.

We did the drive over to Robson from the Jasper side when we toured the Canadian Rockies. That was decades ago now, before we were married.

Several problems with Ethics and Procedure violations.

Ah, I think our right-wing anti-vaxx COVID conspiracy twit has run afoul of those kinds of rules. It's a scandal that he's still even on Council but his constituents seem to like him enough to keep voting for him.

I have been impressed with some legalists that novelize the justice-legal system as an organization of winning rather than balance and thus many experience injustice ... and the scales of justice are warped like a fish all out of shape!

I see in the news that the blockade in Ottawa had members foul churches with human waste. I may not identify with piety ... but I will respect their right to exist until they declare I'm going to hell based on their compassion for me. It is pure physics while in the real world ... action-reaction ... in the abstract world action-reaction is not normal! Just imagine a heaven where the overly judgmental are not their own problem!

Then does irrationality stand up in the imagination? Perhaps intelligence constructs a place of rest for the hostile and violent ...

I know a man who claims to be perfectly correct in hating gays, etc. ... and yet cries to have his opposition robbed of election rights, screwed and offers to kill him. Is this honorable respect that he declares is required from the other person ... and the other person only? Alternate truth ...

And Trump is said to be now praising Hamas as a icon of stability ... they say I'm crazy and support that instability! The world is great ... or gross?

Freud spoke of death wishes in humanity and folk thought Freud was a bit off ... while denying OBI's? My mind is out there searching for ide ...

Good morning! Good weather for travel through mountains with spectacular views, small town council scandals, big city mayor council, the woes of aging, and other things that come to mind to fuel conversation; we bring them with us to the Coffee Cart. All are welcome, come on in and help yourself to a mug/cup of your preferred hot beverage, and join the fun.

We're on our way home from Edmonton. It was a nice visit. It is overcast and grey. We'll see what the day brings. We're looking forward to a visit and meal with friends tonight in Kamloops.

Just finished a two hour introduction to rug hooking. I like it. Bought some interesting wool to make my own designs. Now having lunch from a lovely cafe that’s rainbow friendly before going to look at some quilting exhibits
Are you doing Cheticamp (N.S.) style rug hooking which uses yarn? Or the style which uses thin strips of woolen fabric?
