I gave my children short first names because of a long last name that was hard to spell.
We were looking for names that would transliterate well into Chinese so we wouldn't have to come up with both English and Chinese names. We found a good one, I think. By sheer chance, his wife's name transliterates well, too (her family is Pakistani so I assume it's an Urdu name originally).

My mother would be appalled by the meaning of my name ... but being very stoic she stood against understanding to an ultimate degree ... so she didn't!

It was an ancient name for aroused, Eros, or somehow suffering alien stimulation by strange love ... like despised WOKE characterizations ... thus understanding remains dissociated ... especially in those really wishing to be physically wealthy.

Is it due to RED's stimulant drinks that some of those folk get all crimson in the face or red necked as the top end falls off? Bottom's up ...

Mortals fear knowing abstract bottom lines ... like quantum investments in the unreal! There's a mind beyond body ... NDE? Maybe fin ali tye?

Imagine the teeth locking onto that item ... dogs of conflict going round and round without thought! About as serious as great powers when stuned by possession ... and thus duly possessed ... all coming back at cha ...

Good morning! Happy midweek! Interesting conversations about how names are chosen, picked to sound good with surnames, or influenced by holidays like Christmas. As we continue this train of thought, or start up new topics, let is gather round the Coffee Cart, for chat and camaraderie and hot beverages. All is ready, come join in!

Good morning all.
Yesterday one of my adult kids said it was difficult to not over react when meeting a young lady named Karma. He felt a huge desire to laugh!

That's the spirit ... Dharma is something else again! Some say it has multiple interpretations and thus difficult for religions of edifice (fixation)?

As a female spirit one might consider the quantum aspect as just luck ... a lady that may be a killer? Femme fatale! More for reconsideration ... while others would never reconsider once in establishment ... even YahSu declared he was not of this world because of that Ephraim ... a spin of wind as Maria?

Let us clip along ... to sum the unbelievable up ... and dissonance prevails as Eris ... proving the existence of stir and spin value ... Ah Damn to straight liners ... like a flight out of the Cuckoo's Nest (falsification)? The unknown grows because of the lies and lyres ... Dhar is Tar in some traditions and thus dark a Shaman -ism ... shame no part as if could add up! Few attempt the grasp ...

I used to tease my boys that they could have been named after both grandfathers: one named Osborne, and one named Ignatius, so...Ozzie Iggy!
When my Mom was pregnant with my youngest brother, the proposed girl's name was a mashup of the two grandmothers, one for first and one for middle. His name is from two great-uncles or something like that. My own first name goes back to a great-great-grandfather or something like that. But, yeah, sometimes using those old names does not work so well in the modern era. Though I kind of like Ignatius. It's a grand old name that goes back to Latin and has some interesting historical antecendents (e.g. the founder of the Jesuits).

recently met a preschool Edmund
A name I would probably avoid due to my mental association of the name with the lead character of Blackadder.

these assholes i stf2g hope u like friend GIF

A bit exhausted again. I think that if I can make it through the next two weeks (have asked for minimal shifts at work, plan good recovery sleeps), I will have a full dumpster and a much emptier house. Today, the mulch pile got moved, and a car full of electronics/metal was deposited at the recycling place.

Good morning! How is everyone? For those involved in deep house cleaning, for those names that spark a reaction in us for whatever reason, for all the other things that come to mind, events that take place, or things that we need to do, the Coffee Cart is here to vent, debrief, or listen and support. The coffee is fresh, tea water is hot. Come on in and join the fun!

Can you spark a reaction in something that is 98% dead matter ... wasted concerns? Flammable ether ... near gaslighting ... dangerous as when they learn how they've been spun in the weaving it'll blow ... clipping right along ... hood ah thun kit? Departure is immanent ... folk are spent as useless currency ...

That's the path ah? Path logical darkness? Ready to stir ... mystery break eth ...

Got home yesterday afternoon. Harvested pumpkins and squash this morning. A purple dahlia I got last year and over wintered in our cold room seems to be on steroids. It is occupying close to one third of that flower bed, overwhelming a yellow dahlia. It has dozens of blooms and dozens of buds getting ready to bloom. A nasturtium in the same bed overwhelmed a potato plant and is climbing through our molly bush. Some new dahlias are blooming as well. Hot pepper is loaded with little peppers.
Great trip.

Hot pepper is loaded with little peppers.
When I was walking through my neighbourhood recently, someone had a huge table of dark red peppers sitting in front of their garage. Not sure what type, but they were the "banana" shape so could have been hot.

I made a zucchini side dish with one small part of my prize winning zucchini tonight. It was a cheesy dish for which I found the recipe on-line. Yum. But...I still have a lot of zucchini to do something with!

Good morning! Happy Saturday! Hoping you all have a wonderful holiday weekend. Any ideas how to use extra zucchini would be gratefully received! The Coffee Cart is ready, coffee brewed and tea water is heating, snacks and goodies are there. Come join us round the Coffee Cart, for conversation and community!

Have you noticed that AI has imposed US spells on Canadian word production ... even if yu se the spell checkers on Canadian English?

Is it a six fingered enigma as a Hex? We'll never figure it out as we can get beyond nothing ... paranoia of open space and ROOM is crippling ... there's a word for it!

Good morning! Happy T-giving Eve! May your holiday weekend go well, the company pleasant, the meals memorable. The Coffee Cart is ready, with virtual hot beverages of all kinds, and some pumpkin spice muffins. All is ready, come join in!
