Yes there was no need for purple at that point. The purple writers could have monitored the situation from the sidelines rather than acting.
Agreed. In fact if the mods had stayed out of it, we probably would have had a lovely example of this community monitoring itself.

Hmmm...I'm now wondering what the big guy might be implying when he calls me a "young soul"...

I have an unexpected afternoon "off" after a very meaningful celebration of life this morning. I'm re-watching the service, so I can have another sing and a cry, and Lucy is howling along with my singing. The rest of the "off time" I will no doubt waste, although Lucy will get a long walk a little later. It's super-cold, but really bright. The lake froze over last night.

Look back on the conversation. There was no further discussion of Jae after Mrs. Anteater offered this comment.

No further discussion of the matter at all until the mods stepped in with their purple font to agree with her.

A Like would have more than sufficed IMO.

That would have been nice. Imagine, an adult community monitoring itself.

Thanks, all.

I slept in this morning and am having a lazy day so far. I've been knitting the alpaca yarn I bought in Millbrook, ON in the summer of 2021. My uncle took me to a local alpaca farm and it has taken until now for me to get up the courage to knit this gorgeous yarn into a sweater. It's an overcast day so knitting will be a good activity. But then when is it not a good day to knit. :) I've been watching an Australian urban explorer's videos on abandoned homes. It's very interesting.

Thanks, all.

Anytime.

Took my daughter to an away race. Up at 6, bash head against wall over PM from the mod account at 6:10, away just after 7, at the hill before 8.

Claire had a decent race, attended awards, shared some turns with a few racers and parents, and drove back. Truck parked, had a couple of drinks with peanuts, and now settling in.

It was a good day. A father-daughter race day. Not many of those left. Damn, I'm going to miss these. One day soon she'll be a coach and heading to races by herself. It will be hard to watch her drive away without me.

We went across the river to Michigan to watch oldest grandson play basketball. He's 2nd string on a very good team. He doesn't play a lot but when he does, you can sure hear his Grandma and Grandpa's oohs and aahs! But there are some pretty amazing players on his team....very impressive. One of the best is a guy who is quite short; he's also a fabulous football player. He runs like the wind, and has the smarts to set up or finish up plays. Fun to watch.

We are pretty happy that our grandson does the hard work of trying his best at basketball. He does much better at football, and he plays in the school band and he has all A's on his last couple of report cards. This is the guy that was born just after my daughter turned 18, grew up in our house until he was 7, and is his Grandpa's best friend. His biological father (from a rich family) ended up in jail, on drugs, and died of his alcoholic consumption. We are sure hoping grandson doesn't show any of the rebel tendencies that his biological dad had. His 'dad' now (daughter's husband) is a really good guy so our gratitude for this is HUGE.

I hope Mystic stays. I try to look at the person making the comments in responding to the comments. He provides practice in trying to connect with people living in an alternate reality along with interesting theological rational and history even if it is not very credible. I regard his rude name calling as evidence of insecurity and dismiss it.

Good morning! For the sight of blue skies, for the joy of knitting, for watching grandchildren, for all the other stuff that comes up, the Coffee Cart is ready. Coffee is fresh perked, tea water is near boiling, come on in.

Alternate reality??? Is that a virtue of being able to observe the other's ide?

I had a thought about this but it was knocked out of me by an intoxicating power and became Lucae Gu Ci ... then a handbag ... it went on well packaged so no one would know ... the musk of *aggae ...

It may be a anagram! Things that read both ways ... then there is the reading railroad and once started you're off ...
