Room For All

Welcome to Wondercafe2!

Good morning! We think of Nancy's Mom and others who go through struggles of aging bodies, for patience for those of differing religious and political opinions, and all the other curves and knuckleballs life throws at us. The Room is ready-- pillows fluffed, and furniture dusted. The Coffee Cart is up and running, all is ready. Come and get it.

Dusted furniture? That's just virtue signalling. I suppose someone has to do it though...not me.
Thanks for the coffee ☕️. Most welcome. It's a frosty morning but bright and clear. Hope all goes well for everyone.

Some have dusty memories ... possibly brains cluttered by nebulous fallout from god knows where ... we're not allowed to know.

Well unless one asks the great far out about the matter and its oura! The Oura may expand ...

Good Wednesday Morning! The tea and coffee are hot, chairs are comfy, all is ready. Let us gather and converse, find and offer support for all of life's variables. All is ready.

Confession re dusting, largely an undone job in my house, except for the China cabinet and buffet behind me, which are visible in my Zoom calls, and on which usually rests the candle of the meeting. I check it on the camera before I join via video and if I can see dust, it gets a quick sweep, often with my shirt-tail, lol.

Pondering the joys of solo adulthood: I think I've just talked myself into cinnamon rolls for dinner.

Also pondering the prettiness of a winter sunset, where the ice blue sky shades itself into the most delicate of pinks.

Busy day today. Ended up leading bible study this a.m., then I had to get my pork roasts seasoned and wrestled into two "only just barely enough room" crockpots turned on, and left on low for the afternoon. Then, back to church after my afternoon walk with the hound to turn them off, unplug them, then move the liners into the fridge. Tomorrow, I'll get there before I go to work at noon, put the crockpots back together and cook them on low until I'm finished work at 5, then I'll go back to the church and deal with the meat, deboning and deskinning it and commencing the shredding process.

And I'm working on a card for a friend, about my age, stalwart of the church, feisty little prairie lady, who has had some major surgery and a couple of setbacks. She was in church on Sunday, which was lovely, but I gave her a hug and she's way too thin. She's getting a homemade card (zentangled and possible water coloured), with a CBD-only transdermal patch in it for her to try to stimulate her appetite, and I thought I'd put in a little box of Italian pastries, from the same place I got them for @Northwind's visit this summer.

s**t, and that's how I end up arguing with my vet that it had been only 5 months since our last visit, LOL.

Pastries are still good though, I expect.

Had a good visit to the Ottawa General. B's lymphoma in her jaw is the only active cancer in her body so we move on to radiation which might be completed before the end of the year. Now she can plan on going to Mexico for the first week in February and we can start planning our trip to Portugal at the beginning of May. The bad news was that, since this is the second lymphoma in 4 years, she will probably get it again.

Learned that oncologists are reluctant to use chemo therapy unless it is necessary as it takes many months for the immune system to recover and the viruses going around right now make people with depressed immune systems extra vulnerable to getting very sick.

I really enjoy your posts. They let your personality and humanity shine.

Wishing comfort and healing.

I want to post both a like & a sad face reply to this post. Trips to look forward to, and so much illness around.

Good morning! Avoiding dusting, making travel plans that won't be affected by health situations, for busy days and expanded emojis, and all sorts of other topics that come up, the coffee cart is up and running. Come on in and join the conversation.
