My deed to celebrate Canada day was to spray over a” freedom” sign that was attached to high on a power pole so that I couldn’t get it off. I heard a rumour that there was a “ freedom float” in the annual May parade here- I didn’t watch it, so don’t know for sure. The sign would have been along their route.

I was triple lucky in the past week- won in Bingo last Tuesday and last night, $125 each, and when I whipplesnipped the backyard on the weekend, I snipped right over a nest of yellow jackets and they swarmed me but didn’t sting. Besides that, I am privileged to have work, health insurance, a house. Work stinks right now, but even that will go away.

Freedom is when you believe you have nothing left to loose when the central issue is about the medium that collapsed to a point without substance or volume ... thus blessed silence for later reverberation!

It is all in the belly of a strung out instrument of ... Gods Knows? That'd be out there ... all beyond a mob 've folk! Thus foke muses ... good forethought? Then came the horned instruments and Satchmo to demonstrate soles, etc. Bottoms?

Some are some aren't or as Shakespeare stated to be ornaught ... Are goes ... and thus was ... Grammar Lie?

What does it mean? We don't know and the medium was denied with other essences undergoing realignment ... piously difficult! Expect figures and swerves to confuse the straight liners as they dip over the horizon! Dippy ...

In short we know nothing like it as love that blows all thought ... and keeps us exactly where the tyrants wish ... stupefied and then the condition spreads! Space is said to expand according to science ... with exceptions! That'd be false enlightenment according to the great log-eh (defined as dense and dull)? Human character reference ... encouraging inhumanity to the essence ... essence of knowledge thus departed as lost sol ... sol illo quay? Made up item ...

Word play is a muse 'n peculiarity!

Good morning! As we raise our cups for the disenfranchised, and dump our grounds and tea leaves on those who only think they are disenfranchised, and salute those who are able to distinguish between the two, as we celebrate compassionate providers of dental care, and bingo wins, and beautifying the landscape by covering over Freedumb leftovers, as we deal with all the other stuff that goes on, let us pause for conversation and hot drinks round the coffee cart.

Are franchises free from collapse as Zellars, Sears, etc.?

Don't hold your breath about these businesses of industry ... in dust tree us ... dervishes that are in aware ... una woke?

Then become cognizance that they were no more ... ci phini?

Talking about dumping tea leaves- anybody in the room who can tell the future from tea leaves? @BetteTheRed ?

Nope. Tarot cards, yep. My family are tea-bag people.

Pouring rain here, with the odd rumble of thunder. Dog is in her hiding spot in the den.

People who grew up in poverty, low education, various difficulties like physical, mental or developmental disabilities. Many people of colour. Most certainly not my retired white, male cop friend.

When I watched footage of the occupation in Ottawa, I did see people who fell into those categories. I saw marginalized people (even men) who did not have the skills to do well in our society. I would not say they were the majority.
Sometimes people succumb to “if we can’t beat ‘em we might as well join ‘em” attitudes but I think in large part, disinformation has led people for whom the cause they joined would not be advantageous to them or others like them if it succeded, into believing it would be. Sometimes people just fall for authoritarians because it gives them a false sense of safety - they sound like they have the best words, and are convinced that strong-man powers are the solution to their problems.

Reminds me of the woman I saw, who walked past a couple of “freedom fighters” on the sidewalk berating her for wearing a mask - they said something about being freedom fighters and she said something about her freedom, and how it was a public sidewalk and she can wear a mask if she wants to. She was brave with these two characters flexing with their pit bull, in my opinion. I just would’ve kept going and not said anything because they were intimidating. Actually, I did keep going, but I wasn’t wearing my mask then, outdoors, so they didn’t bother me. And I kind of think it was cowardly of me. But I feel pretty vulnerable, so I just kept going.

I haven’t experienced anybody telling me to take my mask off. I am prepared to ask them back if they would prefer I’d take it off and cough at them. However, pit bulls would deter me.

Good morning! As we think about those who are threatened by others wearing masks, (let us extend "thoughts and prayers" for them) let us gather round the coffee cart, for conversation and caffeine. All is ready.

Even Dante had a masque ... isn't that the devil itself to uncover something of mystery?

Then Dante was isolated from his Bea ... autonomously!

This is closest to what I think. I think there are a lot of people who fall under this category/explanation. I also think that many believe the surface explanation that involves "freedom of choice" and all that. Being here has been interesting. The "freedom" message is far more open here than it was in AB. There are businesses who have flags and who say they support freedom of choice. There are our friends and that makes me wonder who else in our friends circle believes that. I have unfriended a few from here on FB. I outright blocked one couple.

I'm. Sure glad we were weren't living here during the height of the pandemic and that we are only here temporarily.

But I feel pretty vulnerable, so I just kept going.

That's likely your best choice.

I have not experienced flak. I expect I'll say "you do you" to at least one person. That would be my least rude response.

We have some new neighbours across the street. There appear to be about half a dozen kids about ten. It rapidly became obvious that one little one - I'd guess not yet three - is an escape artist. He gets out and runs full speed across the intersection and into the park at some time most days. Poor kid rarely makes it to the climbing equipment, which is on the far side. There is always someone in pursuit.
Today was particularly amusing as he managed to escape while buck naked with his mum right behind..

Amusing anecdote from Whistler.

Claire and I were waiting for a table at a little pasta restaurant. A young couple with two toddlers close in age were scoping out the restaurant next door. Or maybe they ordered takeout. The wife went inside and left the husband with the instruction, "Aaron, watch them!"

Dad briefly scanned that both kids were accounted for then started looking into the restaurant as well.

"Aaron, she's on the road!"

Sure enough, in the 5 seconds his attention was diverted elsewhere, the littlest one made for a road. Whistler Village is pedestrians only, but these restaurants were on the outskirts of the village.

Aaron corralled the girl as mom went back inside. Claire and I exchanged amused expressions at Aaron's failure to keep his kids safe. But in his defense, that girl must have waited for dad's head to turn before she darted for traffic. She was fast.

Relaxed now and about to be brought in and seated, the voice returns.

"Aaron! He's peeing!"

And, in mom's defense, this was true. The slightly older one had dropped trou and was actively urinating in a garden. Not a particularly fancy garden, but still not one that indicated in any way that public urination was acceptable there.

What's amazing is that all this happened in less time that it would take to read this.

At this point, we were seated at Pasta Lupino. Highly recommended btw.

And now Claire and I have a running joke. At random, one of us says, "Aaron! He's peeing!" It's never not funny.

So did mom come back to watch the kids and send Aaron in to the restaurant to get the food? Maybe he couldn't be trusted to get the food either?

Good morning! For the joy and exuberance of little kids, for the frazzled parents trying to do 3 things at once, and for all the anecdotes generated thereby, let us give thanks. Things like that do make life interesting. The coffee cart is ready, come and enjoy the conversation and hot beverages.

I got today off because I am working tomorrow. Had planned to work on levelling some ground for my patio- not happening, we are having a heat warning. I have made a commitment to take my 92 year old neighbours to the local meat market in the next village and after that we have an appointment at an assisted living facility for information and a tour. Unfortunately, the forcast calls for potential severe thunderstorm around that time and 40 degrees. Just hoping the lightning is not going to hit their walkers. But- we can’t put it off. The neighbouring units are getting sold ( slower now since the increase of interest rate), but my neighbours have not much of a realistic plan where they are going to live if that happens. In fact, the husband, with his dementia, keeps talking about “ going back to Quebec to the farm” ( where he grew up), and his wife does not recognize how unrealistic that thought is . ( the farm is still in extended family hands- but they are not likely to welcome the prospect of caring for two seniors).

If heaven is a state of mind (psyche) is it likely an abstract like Black Velvet when you fall into the night? From there on it was all a headless experience! The head being all wrapped up ... in the veil? Imagine the wrinkles ...
