Room For All

Facing overspends on that scale can easily be almost paralysing. I hope trust and growing relationships will be part of your process as the council works on it. One hazard for the clergy and the chair is to take on too strong a sense of personal responsibility rather than keeping it a collective responsibility. There is a church on Calgary that used to regularly prepare budgets with deficits or overspends of up to half a million as there were a few deep pockets in the congregation that would always step up to cover the difference. I wish all of you well

Well is deep space ... know! It is said a maid tends it ... a bit psyche? Thus psychotics ...

I'm told this happens ... in gobs ... Celtic blarney about gobshite?

Good morning. It is cool here with promises to warm up later in the week. I was freezing a lot of the day yesterday and couldn't get warm. Turns out we ran out of propane. Propane refilled and voila, warmth.

I saw a photo today on FB that contrasted the bombing in Ukraine with our lives. I was feeling a bit reflective so wrote this:

"
I've been thinking about this (the photo and what is happening in Ukraine) and contrasting it with the "oppression" and "tyranny" we supposedly have in Canada. I'm starting my day with coffee and cereal. I'm watching a YouTube video by a couple who is renovating a chateau in France. Later I'll pop out to pick up some things for the bag I'm making. When I get back home, I'll continue to work on my bag. Meanwhile people in Ukraine have had their lives totally disrupted.

We live in one of the freest countries in the world. We've been asked to follow pretty simple public health measures to protect ourselves and each other from a virus. Those protections are being lifted. And yet people think we are oppressed by a tyrannical government(s). Give me a break.

I can assure you the last three years have not gone as we planned. We had planned to travel and have adventures. Instead I was starting the cancer treatment journey this time three years ago. That treatment ended and bam a pandemic. :/ I learned yesterday that a cancer buddy died. She went from living well to dead very quickly.

These words from the musical "Something Rotten" fit:

"You make wine from sour grapes
You got a flat pancake, hey, call it a crepe
When life gives you eggs, make an omelette
You get cola from a nut
A dirty worm makes silk from out of his butt
When life gives you eggs, make an omelette
Omelette"

Maybe we need to be thankful for what we have instead of imaging persecution."

We received an invitation to a special wedding on Hornby Island in mid June and making a decision about how we will go seemed like a tricky problem. It is nothing compared to the situation for millions in Ukraine who do not know for sure where they will be sleeping tonight, how to stay safe, and other really hard questions.

The people complaining about loss of freedom seem to live in pretty insular bubbles with wrong answers for why they have the challenges that are real for them.

Good morning, all! Happy Friday! As we ponder church meetings and budgets, cats, and all sort of topics, we think today of Ukraine, and pray for peace. Let us gather round the coffee cart and find community and conversation.

Putin has stated that if anyone interferes he will respond in nuclear fashion ... indicating to me that death wishes do reside with sociopaths!

hen they tell me I am evil for reading into the bare bad NU's as the line tightens up towards the end of any interpretation of humanity ... and thus inhumanity blows free!

Is nature setting its wildness free to correct mankind that cannot contain itself? And we rest in total unawares ... the stirring of insanities woke nothing ... human traits?

Interpretation is disposed and dispersed ... kind of out!

Jayne...I admire your thoughtful reflection on the budget deliberation. Many churches are in that situation these days. In our case, it costs a lot to run a church that is open for only three events per week: church service, quilting, and choir practice. We hire to remove snow, to clean, to repair things. We purchased a tv, and a new sound system in the last little while. We pay a treasurer. And, although we only have a half-time minister, we pay well. Our finances have been steadily depleted, while our pews are emptying (due to death, or older people moving to senior homes). We are not attracting anyone new, although a few 'new' people like our Facebook page. I can see how many people actually watch our church services on Facebook in entirety...not many. Usually less than 10. (Viewership drops off after about one and a half minutes). I think we are going to fade away....

Remember fresh thought are stored down a hole ... quite well forgotten as the older matter! Confined knowledge of all sorts ... mental and psyche are like that ... beyond the greater emotions that create insane activity ... like overruns everywhere ... consider Trump and all his best friends as gone over the Wahl ...

Does insanity succeed? What more evidence is required?

It's sad to hear your church might fade away @Nancy

It's happening everywhere, I think. Compared to 25 years ago, we have one third the United Church congregations here in Scarborough. And you wouldn't say all of the ones which remain are thriving. :(

Could it be because of what nothing we are doing ... my grandfather devised that nothing was emotional or love and he settled with that thought!

His old church is drifting in that direction as few are there as they have nothing to learn at that place!

Church once was a place of learning ... some of the evangel types say knowledge, science and observation are evil ... so that goes too ... and devoid is indicated as conclusion. Furthermore bad NU's is also out of the loop ...

Did you know that NU/nous/noose is forerunner of paranoia and fear of the unknown ... thus the stranger departed ... some say that character of Galilee! Snow flower sometimes known as Rosea Charon ... it depends!

If you go to church with the belief you will learn nothing alien ... is it a matter of hanging your brain on a meat hook ... increasing the demand for head cheese's? Thus Kurds in Aramaic zones ... so wrought ... in a draft o'finking!

In some literary devices there's nothing to it! If you cannot observe intuit ... 4th part of the thinking, sensing, sensing cycle of sentient nature ...

Winter has decided to return this morning. Will help myself to more coffee ☕
Just sitting down for a cup after clearing two driveways from the first couple of centimeters of another weekend weather, probably bringing 10-20cm tonight. Love it when they fall on weekends and I don’t have to get to work. Might even be good for snowshoeing on Sunday. Aren’t we blessed to live in peace in lovely cold Canada. Probably nobody will ever want to invade Canada because of the weather. The US Americans still think that we have polar bears in downtown Toronto and send our seniors to end their lives on ice floats. But thankfully , we have Prime Minister Tim Hortons.

Good morning! Welcome to Saturday. The coffee cart is ready, coffee has dripped and water is hot for tea, etc. We continue to think about Ukraine, winter, shrinking budgets and congregations. Maybe our discussion today can spark some joy and celebration, in the midst of what feels like a Goetterdammerung. (I probably misspelled that) Anyway, welcome.

When you gather words, over and over, about humans ... does it seem to develop into sardonic inhumanity?

This may encourage some to get out of the situation created by making ideals of powerful folk ... thus more stories may be added to the log!

Iconic revelation, or just something bought on by the apothecary ... drug induce apotheosis may be endogenous ... like steroids? Perhaps even crossovers ... tacky humor by diabolical powers that we can't see from here ... sarcasm is denied to be politically incorrect in governing houses the members say the oddest things ... blind followings can't see it because of the vanity to rise with flattery! Things floc from there ...

The Ottawa Outaouais Regional Council is holding their Zoom Winter Meeting this morning. It will not have any business, just presentations and music.
-22, hazy, and no wind so not too bad weather wise. I have to take our dog for a walk in the driveway as the snow is too icy and deep for her in our backyard.

Goetterdammerung. (I probably misspelled that)
Not bad. Gotterdammerung is the spelling, at least that's how it is spelled in the opera world.

Good morning. How's things? Been wrestling with a headache but it seems to be fading now. Right eye gets fixed on Monday (Yay). No big plans this weekend.

I could do with a few more meetings like that.
