Yay for negative tests. We have a sunny day so far after a night full of heavy rain. We had some wind that shook us a bit. It seems to have settled down. Dog and I had our usual walk this morning. She started the morning by finding a truly disgusting rotting salmon head. I'll be so glad when the eagles stop dropping them. And man, it's good the dog is cute.

The old guy had a Malamute/golden cross that would have done just about anything for a fish head. He LOVED ice-fishing season, because he lived right near the lake, and the people fishing thought that it was cute to get the pup so excited about a fish head, so Jazz had an endless supply from early January to mid-March.

Sheesh- I hate it when our dog rolls on a dead fish. Note - he doesn't eat them , he just rolls on them. Special care is taken with well rotted ones to ensure every square inch of him stinks.!

Daughter phoned earlier to say her dogs had apparently got into a disagreement with some wolves. They were lucky to keep their lives. She has been bathing wounds and applying antibiotic.

Good morning, all! Snow is covering the ground, and continues to fall. Seems like a grand day to work from home, if possible, but if you need to go out, be safe. Anyway we raise a mug to negative results, and hope the news will continue to be good. Tea water is hot, coffee's ready.

The highs & lows that I mentioned on Sunday morning.
It started with waking to a message from a friend that she had moved into hospice. The time is near. Cancer sucks, but pancreatic cancer f'n sucks. I met her in Grade 5, and we were inseparable for years. We reconnected about 10 years ago, and have enjoyed our time together. COVID sucks as well.
Then, a phone call from my son, that he proposed the night before. He shared the story, and his joy was delightful. We are thankful for his finding a true partner.
So, tears of profound sadness and tears of pure delight.

Blizzard here. About ten inches in the ground so far. A day of shoveling.
I am sorry for your friend Pinga Pancreatic cancer is a bad one

and congratulations on the upcoming wedding to plan.

our son and his new wife ( July 2020) took possession of their new house yesterday

Lastpointe, we too are getting snow. Spouse and youngest son shoveled and used snowblower to clear the hill and deck. Then, oldestson came by to put on snowtires prior to work.

I baked. Enjoying the smell in the house.

The house planning would have been fun, i hope, for your son & his new wife, but, that's a lot of things going on through covid -- house selections, wedding, along with everything else. Hope that their move is uneventful.

they move tomorrow, hoping the storm is over by then

yes in one year Covid hit, they got married suddenly, bought a house, sold a condo, son got a new job. Lots of those life stresses all at one time

but they are super excited about the house. Smallish semi detached with a garage. On a lane way which is great in Toronto. Private spaces for kids to play street hockey and learn to ride bikes away from traffic. Hopefully they will wait a year or so before they add the stress of a baby
